Hi Russ. The guy who used to top up jukeboxes. Would that be Pat Bromley by any chance? That guy had a dream of a job in the mid seventies. he used to find records everywhere.

Well done Sam. Hang in there mate.
  9. Excellent show, just what was expected. With Pete Young on jazz fm on Saturday afternoon, the weekends are worth waiting for. Despite no domestic football. One low point. Did I hear Richard say he was only doing the show for a few months?

Remember seeing him at Southampton Top Rank circa 75/76. About two hundred in. At least over the decades he received the adulation he deserved. I don't know about the Last Soul Man. He was my first Soul Man. God Bless Bobby and thank you.
  11. Can you do a sound clip please?
  12. pm'd you
  13. pm'd you on Brenda H.
  14. Its always so sad when a Soul lover leaves us. He sounded like a top guy. God Bless you Mike.

  16. oops. Missed the earlier post. Sorry.
  17. Can't believe Walter Jackson has had no mention. "It's an uphill climb to the bottom", And a record I bought as a new release as a fledgeling Soulboy, probably the first REAL Soul record I bought. "The Dramatics. "Hey You, Get off my mountain".
  18. I'll always remember discussing Gwen Owens at Nottingham Palais with Gary Rushbrooke 76/77 when it was the biggest record in the country and a supposed oneoff. gary said "there's a lad three miles down the road who has one" I've seen it. My point being. There are so many collectors out there who no one knows of, who can say for sure theres only 3 or 4 of whatever.
  19. pm'd you
  20. HaHa. I missed the above post. Disregard previous irrelevance!
  21. I remember Clarkie and Ady Croasdell finding a couple in the States circa 78. I remember them saying they were just walking past an oldies shop and it came blasting out of the speakers. Spooky!!
