  4. I forgot to thank you for posting the super article. I hope that this brings out some more articles which would otherwise be lost possibly forever and which would be a shame. I don't have anything on tape to offer but I recall Dave being a guest on the Andy Peebles show on Piccadilly Radio in 1977 or early 1978. Three of the 45's he brought along and played were: Lifestyle - Katrina- MCA (new release) Deniece Chandler & Lee Sain - Hey baby - Toddlin' Town (Deniece Williams had recently been in concert in Manchester) Bobby Lee Fears - Exodus - Forward All super records and they went straight onto my wants list.
  5. Hi Barry Great!. I'd like to have a copy of that show. PM me when you have it copied onto cd or whatever. Phil
  6. Re "the Ghost Tour" : Didn't Dave Godin say that he tried to dissuade Berry Gordy from going ahead because it was too early/time wasn't right?.

  16. I remember rushing out to find a copy of "I found a Goodie" when heard Mike Raven give it it's first and probably only spin on it's UK Bell 45 release. I also remember sometime later being in Soul City & Dave Godin asked me what artists I liked as it was proving tough to get some money out of me. I saw the Chris Bartley LP and said that I actually had his "I found A Goodie" and loved it. Well, that was it because Dave told me it was one of his favourite LP's so i coughed up £3 (a third of my take home pay each week!) and took it home smuggling it into my parents house in case they asked how much i'd spent. I was a confirmed Van McCoy & Chris Bartley fan from then on and my favourites are nearly everything he recorded..A & B sides but one track that always blows me away from the LP is "My Baby" . Another thing that stuck in my mind about Chris was the story that he had put aside his career at one stage to nurse his Mother when she became ill. So, yes , it is Job well done & done with Soulfulness. RIP Chris
  17. I have the MFP various artists LP ,Black Soul Explosion that Ember also put out. It has "Compared to what" credited to Titus Oats. Sounds just like Mr Flood's Party. Anyone have the story?.
