  1. A very well built small record box ideal for selling, DJ'ing with a small selection, or simply storing records. rugged construction all reinforced corners, leather handle, clasp that takes a small lock, sponge padded inner. has been well used so doesnt look new but it is bullet proof and i had it custom built so you are unlikely to find a box this good of this size in any shop. Holds appx 60 records stored in a paper then card sleeve. i am in nottingham ideally this is for collection but could meet somewhere close to notts. looking for 60gbp

  5. I dont think you could listen to just northern for 50 years. i know i couldnt.
  6. Yes that is true. and if anybody were to attempt to make a boot they would also need this info.
  7. The buyer mentions stafford all nighers in a conversation with john so i'm sure he will have some friends on here.
  8. Yes.
  9. Yes i know thats an original i'd have to have been on another planet to not know the story of that 45. i'm saying all the factors that are being checked could be reproduced on a counterfeit. it probably is the early steps to recording more useful data on rare original records and is a good thing but i dont think its definitive and needs to evolve. But its a good start.
  10. Yes i can relate to that. The dreadful records that always get mentioned when somebody hears you are into northern.
  11. I would happily spend an evening in a club playing music of that pace as long it’s it’s quality soul
  12. Was romark considered to slow when it was discovered or was it an instant hit on the scene ?
  13. Fantastic cd’s and some great sleevenotes as well.
  14. In heindsight it was a great time on the scene.
  15. I didn't go I wonder on how these 45s gain popularity and think mine may have played a small part... it went to ben summers at rugby one night. It was after this I noticed it start to gain a lot of attention.
  16. I was wasting time on google last night and one search took me to a film featuring bruce willis from 2012 that featured a brilliant deep soul track "pwwerful love" by chuck and mac. for a bruce willis big film to feature such an obscure classic is quite impressive. No link to any particular individual but just an example of when a true underground classic breaks into mainstream media.
  17. mid to late 90s I had a tape with both sides of that 45 and it took me a while to find a copy then quite quickly a found a 2nd. its a great 45. Both long gone now. It shot up in price a few years after my copies had both gone, typical.
  18. I hope i’m Not stating the obvious but you know they are different recordings and share the words but different backing. caramel is 60s romark 70s
  19. A slip of the hand and he could have done some serious damage. the sharp edge of the metal may have left a serious mark in the grooves. i dont think those checks would be enough froma scientific perspective. I know it's completely different but when they look at old paintings on fake or fortune the depths the testing goes to is incredible and takes away all doubt.
  20. I could understand somebody leaving a scene or not wanting to be involved but to srop liatening to a type of music because you dont like a scene seems strange. i may be off the mark but i thought his preference was for deep soul which doesnt really have a scene as such.
  21. Having the record in the title would help. great track.
  22. maybe for a small edit....
