  1. i decided to get in touch with the ebay seller regarding the robert tanner 45 .i asked him did he have the rights to reproduce a copy of the original and sell it ? he tried to say he didnt understand what i wanted to know .so i said its simple my friend do you have the original label owners permission to sell this copy for £9 or whatever it was . to my surprise the bloke sent me a message saying ....no
  2. i was thinking of selling a clock the other day but found out its old and collectible worth a fair bit now .so i got thinking maybe i should find some poor clock makers and donate them some cash to ease my conscience
  3. not sure if there is a sound clip of chain gang but its a cracker . i heard it off a cd years ago and so i then i heard their other records. as stated on another post 'done to death' for a good few years and more

  6. after collaborating with a few other peeps i think ive worked it out , the beachcomber was indeed open before the nighters but they was infrequent .i remember folks trying to fit in the little cafe in winter time trying to keep warm and started thinking if the comber was open why didnt most go in there then to keep warm? but also realised the sheer amount miling about in station rd obviously could only fit so many in but i still dont remember it being open before the nighter but obviously it was .
  7. im not talking about the cafe im meaning the club underneath thats what this thread is about i think , anyway i also did the baths once or twice but that was worse very depressing i thought , i can tell you with bells on it was open in the mornings after the nighter and i dont ever remember it being open befor the nighter . but having said that i stopped queueing up outside in station rd as i got a pass as a cleaner then as a coke lad shifting coke from one bar to another . i also remember the rock nights before the nighter started at one time ?
  8. think your getting confused with the cafe next door . as the beachcomber didnt open before the nighter or it didnt when i went in the early days ?, it was a club in its own right a few years before the nighters started us wiganers went there as it was a mod /youth club when the nighters started it was a place used in the mornings after the nighter where folks could hang around until they had there travell plans sorted . personley i thought it was a horrible place , in those days i lived just down the rd and if i wasnt going on to blackbeat bolton or the ritz or some buggers house .i would set off to walk home i got turned over by the ds in there little maroon mini nearly every week .
  9. just thought i would point out the incident that i witnessed was not during the nighter but in mr Mm's half hour before it opend the doors to the rest of the building for the nighter as they used to hold a Cabaret Night in that room untill nearly 2 am , me and my mate used to be coke lads shifted bottles of coke around from one bar to another. we got a free pass for the nighter in return. . same as the cleaners did , can only speak for 73 untill 77 before it turned in to a circus

  17. quote ..Hardly, or it would be called 'Rare Soul Source'. No I reckon this site is frequented by people who like good quality soul music regardless of rarity (or price) Since when has the price of a record been a gauge of it's quality? Price is just something people are willing (or in most cases able) to afford to pay for a tune rich Soul Source : Rare Northern Soul Music eh? do you see somthing diferent apart from slight diferent wording ? i think it obvious that there are going to be many people using the site as i already said i thought it goes without saying some of those folks are going to be collectors of rare soul music along with others that spend a lot of dosh in a very genaral sense of the meaning , i dont think its hard to understand what i meant. , im sure i /we /they do like good quality soul music . my post no 111 was a throw away comment that did not imply anything you have writen why did i have to post anything

  19. butch had a parisians for sale at prestatyn im almost sure he had a grand on it but could be wrong , i also remember another about 5 months back on ian clarks auction it reached over a grand or over i was also offerd a grand for my own copy of the traditions . it apears that regardles of opinions on here there is stil plenty demand for the record no matter which recording of it , personally i dont play it anymore
