***rare Soul***
When I 1st got took to the Mecca, the older lads said to me you want to come. "They play AMERICAN IMPORTS!" At the time local clubs playing Stateside, Tamla, Atlantic, Stax etc. So I went and didn't know any of the records, but 39 years later I'm still here.

Cheapo's Record Stall In Soho
Made many a record buying trips to London between Oct 73 and June 75. Did my 1st States trip July 75, and never did the London trips again. Did not know who Ady was at the time, or he me. We once had a very long talk about cheapos, sit on some stairs in the South Club in Manchester before a Ritz All-nighter. (90s) Dave.

Yes Dillinger was played in the Highland Room. Dave.- My Dirty Little Secret
F**k all wrong with S.I.T.S.. it's on a very nice label as well (Dynovoice) It's just been played to death over the years, same with "Out On The Floor", "Tainted Love" and many others, massive floorfillers in their day. All now called divi northern records, I don't really want to hear them when I'm out, but I still like them. Dave.- The Geography Of Northernsoul
Phil, I never said it was going to be exciting.- The Geography Of Northernsoul

:yes:100% agree with you on both counts. It brings to mind the novelty version of "Prove Yourself A Lady" that did the rounds back in the day. I can't remember what it was called or who it was by? Dave.- The Geography Of Northernsoul
Phil, I think there where two Keith's than? I went to the other Keith,s house in Ormskirk a few times (Stanley Street I think) circa 73/74. Dave.- The Geography Of Northernsoul
Like everybody else I never meet anybody from Liverpool back in the 70s. There where a few lads from Ormskirk, Pete Lawson and his sidekick Little Sean, Keith Bradley and a few others whos names I have forgot. Dave.- Wigan Casino's Last Hurrah
Used to use Persil 2/4/1 for the footy away games lol. Never want to Wigan on train, early days on bus (free). Than from mid 74 onwards go by car or van.- Wigan Casino's Last Hurrah
