  1. The UK LP is on MOJO, not Comtempo. Yes there was a PYE DD 7 release. Great record BTW.

Hi Steve, I have done a great sin (forgot), please don't tell the soul police. Anyway I will tell you the story at Bury on Friday. Dave.
  3. 1st time I heard it was in Tony Walker's mum's pub in 1973. I played it out in 74/75. Can't remember ever hearing it at any of the big three at the time (Blackpool, Cheethorpes or Wigan). That doesn't mean it wasn't played at any of them. Top marks to who ever played it at Howard Mallett. Dave.
  4. I still like both them two.
  5. Still like "The Zoo", "Goodbye..." is ok in a corny way, Always hated "My Hearts Symphony" with a passion. Anyway here's one for you staying with the big records of summer 74 "Human Jungle" The Fugitives.

Steve, Kev Darge played a nice funk version at the Southport Weekender about 5 or 6 years ago. Dave. P.S. John's LP is abit nice.

Jim, I have had my issues with Ian over the years, but it doesn't take away the magic times all those years ago. I still see Colin on a regular basis and I am glad to say never had any probs with him. Dave.

There weren't that many in the 70s (no way 50-100) that's for sure. No idea how many have turned up since, but with JM getting £900 for one it must be still quite rare. Or is someone gonna tell me loads have been found now.
  11. Pete, Russ was selling chess copies about the same time as the OOTP boot, same price 85p. Can't remember if they were stereo or not. It was about the middle of Nov73 they where all sold on the night at Wigan. Somebody must have got one or know somebody who got it at the time. PS I can't write in a Accrington accent.
  12. Paul, I can remember the price of singles going up to 2/9 from 2/6 in the local record shop. I can't remember what year, but the prices might have been cheaper up here in the north (lower wages ?). Dave.
  13. Re IAN and NICK, the title of the tread kind of gives it away. .
  14. Ian, for those of us not on faceback, what record are you taking about?
  15. Hand delivered, by Pony Express.
  16. AL WILSON--LA LA PEACE SONG---BELL Canada-------20 Contains--passport---old play that never had 45 release all are tidy both vinyl and covers--- most ex 01270-xxxxxx
  17. Guilty of the above 100s and 100s of times. When I collected singles if I know the record I never played the other side. If I had got a lot of records I did not know I would play both sides (soul packs, bulk buys etc) A classic eg = "Gonna wipe away the teardrops" when I 1st heard it out, went to the stage to see what it was. I couldn't belive it was the other side of "The day my heart stood still" by Ollie Jackson. I am even worse with CDs, last year after doing some decorating Lou counted 147 CDs still unwraped. She was not best pleased, give me a earbashing why do you keep buying, you don't need them etc. There's more now. lol.
  18. He sure would, one of my mates, (Chris Sheppard) got Del-Larks off Richard at Bank-Hall Miners for £35.
  19. Richard Searling got my Bernie Williams sold it for £40 or there abouts.
  20. £100 EACH.
  21. How about selling The Hamilton Movement for all of £1.50 or Carol Anderson (whip) or Jock Mitchel at £1 each and many many more. I did not think they were crap just my selling prices at the time.

Nothing wrong with the Love Walrus, not a bad song writer as well.

No you did not dream it, but like Paul said I think it was 75. A load of us met up at one of the pubs in Clayton-Lee-Moors and walked down to the Dunkenhalgh. It felt so wierd, having a big all-dayer so close to home at the time. I used to go into the Dunk grounds after conkers when I was a kid.
  24. To the bitter end is by Bobby Hill.
