The Boat - Friday June 23rd Our special guest this month is David Raistrick - The promoter of the original Skegness weekender, record dealer and owner of Stars and Strips record store. Radio host and the man who had the foresight to bring these amazing records back from the states. Dave was one of the first pioneers of what we know and love, Northern Soul. So it’s such a pleasure and an honour to have him play for us at The Boat. Dave will also be selling vinyl on the night, so traders welcome. The music will be outstanding. The balcony will be open to panoramic views of the river Trent. And Dave will bring a little Skegness magic. Look forward to greeting you all on the night. The Boat team (Lisa)

John's funeral service will be held at St Helen's Church in Stapleford, Nottingham, NG9 8FN at 11:30am on the 17 April 2023. Followed by a celebration of John's life at the Kirk Hallam Social Club, Ilkeston, DE7 4GZ where the doors will open from 12:30pm All are welcome to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a great friend and widely respected DJ.

During a trip to Bellmans Yard Soul Club, Newport I had to book Spook as the set he played was as good as they get. Cant wait to see him behind the decks at The Boat.

Worth the entry fee just to hear the Young Brothers played out loud. Great night guys.
