Unfortunatly, due to ill health it now seems this is what i`m going to have to do, i`m in the situation of still loving it and enjoying the life long friendships ive built over the years, also my wife loves the scene also, which is putting me between a rock and a hard place, of course we`ve spoke at length over the past few months and my wife being the person she is has said if thats what we have to do, we have to do it. Its an awful situation to be in as apart from a break between the mid 80`s and early 90`s ive loved the scene since 1976. Even through that short period of time when i wasn`t active on the northern scene i still had records and listened to them on a regular basis. So for me this will be a very bitter pill to swallow after giving my life to the music that i love. I will still continue to buy records and collect as i`m sure that is an addiction that will never be cured It`s now gonna have to be the time to slow down and take things easy, but i really will miss it all. Luckily enough i have a very supportive family and set of close friends who are all helping me through this. Ive a couple of things planned for the near future which health permitting i would like to do, and then its time to scale everything down, and fingers crossed get myself back on the right track. An old friend who is no longer with us, once said to me......"IF IT`S IN YOUR BLOOD, IT`S THERE FOR GOOD.......never a truer word said as far as i`m concerned

Was a big friend of Sylvia from ripon Grant, she married a mate of mine from york, Andy scott. Also her partner in crime Bev, who strangely enough i contacted again recently, think she`s still up Ripon way, and recently married a lad called Dean from wales, when i spoke to her she was telling me she was out and about again and was a regular at the Lowton. We had one hell of a party at hers and sylvia`s flat in ripon one new years eve early eighties
