  1. You heard the super Jackie Beavers version? Obviously not as good as the Camaros, but still heavenly.

Faaabulous Can we have a Sam/Jackie off? I'll set the bar low. Just Be Sincere.
  3. Have to agree MAK. Was litening to Honey & Bees version last night. The chorus is a little crass, but the classy beauty of the verse more than recitifies the problem. Not heard the other tho. Sound clip for on the move?
  4. I wonder if he's forgiven me for not wanting to be his protege?! Nice Dalek tho.

HAHA! You know what they say... 'When the going get's tough'. When you went for that thing in the paper, it said 'Job SHARE', not 'SHY'. Stop selling your stuff. I'll buy you the Odyssey as an early Barmitzvah present. But don't go selling it on for UHU.
  6. Is it the same Sonny DAVE Daye who did 'Merry-Go-Round'? Top R'n'B tune that.

Mate, just PM'd you, finally found you a copy of that blazing Odyssey thing! Just gotta find miself one now. As I've also gotta find you the Eddie Kendricks. Parker Jr. Lp. Yes, indeedy. 'Your Love's Leading Me' just slays me every time. Do you a tape when I get the chance.

    >My first meeting with Sam Cooke came as a kid on a school trip I was about 13or 14 and on >leaving the house just picked up a tape didnt know what was on it , put my headphones on and >it was Sam this was the first time I'd heard him , so I feigned illness so I could stay on the >coach by myself and listen to the whole of the tape in amazement - GENUIS Some things never change...... Love Sam Cooke. I do. But still unaware that they've mentioned Jackie yet..... The man had a miiiiles better voice, in terms of passion AND quality, than Sam.

    >I agree Gareth , fab tune, just try dancing to it though Orton! You lightweight! Embrace the Harpersoul and soar free! Like the wounded sparrow you evidently are. Did you ever find that Odyssey 45 you were after?? Manship's got one I think. It's quite hard now. Massive with the modern Euro DJ's. Amazing x-over tho.
  10. 'You've made me so very happy (nappy?)' would probably say everything a new father is feeling right now. Prefer Lou's version myself. Cheap as chips.
  11. Anyone know who the guy at The Wilton with a little 50 box with Slow Down Heart by the temps in it was? He also had a copy of Carolyn Crawford. If someone could pass me his details I'd be grateful. Cheers, M btw. Wilton. what a great night.
  12. Then perhaps people ought to visit the 100 Club more often...
  13. I can't believe no-one's mentioned Martha Jean Love's 'Old Time Lover'! In my top five, together with San Franciscan TKO's - Make Up Your Mind Luther Ingram - Baby Don't You Weep Inspirations - Gotta Find A New Love Ben E King - Gettin' To Me.
  14. Class 45 the sandpipers. Takes me way back. If only my demo had the label on the fliP! bah!
  15. It's oK's. HAR. Doesn't really go anywhere. Sorry.
  16. Bank Holidays aren't the same without the Ritz in my opinion. Ever noticed how people lose out without a massive quality niter? The Ritz usually brought over 500 of us together every Bank Holiday with a smattering of the best rare soul DJ's throughout the year. Top atmosphere, music for everyone, loads of happy people. The only niter I never left before 7 or 8 as it used to be. I hate bank holidays now.
  17. Old Skool Soul? Not from UK/US. I'd have thought someone would have mentioned Doris by now. Swedish white girl out of the early 70's. Did a killer album called 'Did You Give The World Some Love Today?' Awesome record. Includes 'Beatmaker' and 'Don't' which became massive on the Mod scene. Also, the CD has unreleased stuff, one of which is a version of 'Mama Didn't Lie' which puts Jan Bradley to shame.
  18. As it 'appens, I have a ICSC membership card from 73 in the tax disc holder in my car. A present from a friend. It looks fucking killer in matching auto colours!!!!
  19. THAT has now been sold. Sorry.
  20. I'm also selling THAT. Don't want to, but it'll make me look like I've got a great collection.
  21. THIS is sold
  22. I'm Selling THIS
  23. Can someone please tell me how I can download the MP3's off teh gallery sounds page? I only seem to be able to stream them and there's loads of stuff I want to download into my itunes. cheers.
  24. I know someone who has the Natural 4 for sale. I presume you mean Hanging On To A Lie? Cheers, M
  25. Man, I'm glad this topic came up. Doing the 100 Club flyer, I've been driving myself mad at how 'James Trouble' messed up my designers 'grid'. 'ADY BUTCH MICK & C*NT' now looks stunning in 228 point. Cheers James. All I've gotta do now is find someone to leech that other guest... 'Warren from Boogaloo' is a right ball-ache to fit.... Bitch fight anyone?
