  1. This one has to be included -
  2. Very sorry to hear about this- Barney did play an important role in getting Motown established -
  3. Are you sure Lionel Hampton wrote that song? I could see it being Riley Hampton who was working with Ollie McLaughlin in the mid 60's.
  4. Really sorry to hear this- met him a few years back and he was an incredibly nice guy. Great 2 sided 45 !!
  5. I would go with B. There's a few artists who tend to "fluff" their resume. I know of a female singer who remade a song from 1964 in 1966 and claims she wrote the song and owns the copyrights to the song on you tube. I'm not going to mention names to spare her from further embarrassment.
  6. Both Record World and Cashbox reviewed "Jan Jan" by the Fabulous Counts (Moira #103) in their December 21st, 1968 issues. It doesn't make much sense for Belita Woods (Moira #106) to have been released 2 years earlier.
  7. Can't find any reference of "Magic Corner" before 1969. The single did well on WJLB in Detroit -
  8. The album "Detroit Gold" lists Pete Varner only as the writer of "Magic Corner".
  9. Here's two more that can be removed from the list - The Olympics and Ralfi Pagan. The titles may be the same but the songs are completely different.
  10. Jack Montgomery did go a little higher on the WVON chart a few weeks later but did much better on another Chicago station (WBEE) going up to #17. Kellmac #1010 and #1012 must have been pressed in very small quantities.
  11. Very Funky track from Laura -
  12. "I'm Looking Out For Me" did pick up some local airplay on WVON (#31) and also in Memphis, Baltimore and Houston -
  13. Fine original version of the tune remade by the Dells -
  14. There's another variation on Despenza with the release # as 470 versus 12266 -
  15. From Grover Washington's "Winelight" album -
  16. While this is definitely "Ain't No Big Thing", the lyrics are different. In the Radiants version, the lead singer has a feeling he's losing his girl, in this version, the lead has already found someone new -
  17. Here's another one for the list -
  18. I don't think this one has been mentioned yet -
  19. Just to clear up a few minor details- 1) Charles Johnson did not produce "Starting All Over Again" for Mel and Tim. 2) "Backfield In Motion" was released 3 years before "Starting All Over Again"
  20. I think "Anything..." was released. The 1st article is from June, 1977, the second one shows WAMM in Flint, Michigan did give it some airplay in September, 1977. Both articles have a slightly different name for the singer.
  21. Bootsy's given name is William Collins so i can see the reason for the mixup on you tube. I think someone decided they had to be the same person.
  22. I had to mail a few letters and asked about this at the Post Office. I was told there was a list of countries that are not accepting mail from the U.S. The clerk asked me what country I wanted to know about - I said England and she told me the U.K. was not on the list. So.. I don't know if your seller is confused or if the state he's in is a Corona virus hot spot and they aren't allowed to ship overseas. She did warn me that if I shipped overseas, there would be big delays.
