Really enjoyed the weekender and big thanks to the hotel owners, staff and everyone who made the effort to attend and make it one to remember for all the right reasons I think...of course to Jem for organising and promoting what was without doubt a very time consuming event to put on, also his long-suffering missus and Son for all their hard work on the door & putting up with him at home :D+ usual other helpers on that side, to Louise Austin on the "Groove On" side of things and for the surprise guest PA, finally to the other boss Len and ALL the DJs for their great choices and banter...such a great range of SOUL to soak up over the 20+ hours in both rooms. I certainly got a kick out of playing a whole bunch of different things in that great conservatory room over the three nights and having a good ole dance on the Saturday. Cheers all, until next time! Steve

Well 'just to be kind', I won't ring you for our usual deep 'event analysis' just yet then Jem

Pleasantly surprised is all I can say, great to have proof that there really is a call for what we are doing - and especially great to see 'The Modern Room' is back with a bang! It really was kicking in there, right up until 2.00am (ish!) The way that second room 'morphed' into Groove On, from my Mid-tempo type stuff to Brian Gouchers' rarities, to Dave Weldings' choices including new releases, on to Max Reese, who was absolutely in his element, then to a fantastic 'feel good' set from Louie Martin - Now he is a DJ! Steve Scotney then 'underlined' the evening with some great 'goodnight folkz' tunes which finished it off nicely on a real high! It was a fantastic experience in that room - People simply enjoying good soul music!

Not to mention the impromptu live act from Paul Mclean of Hi Tension which was a real treat - Hopefully Jem will post up the filming of that.

All of the above, along with The Main Room of course! made for a very special weekend.

All the best,

Len

Edit - Here ya go...

£20 for a weekend pass! :thumbsup:..best get in quick as that's a bargain for SERIOUS amount of soul across two rooms...well everyone all in one room on the Friday night, then take your pick of Northern to Modern and everything in between for up to 10 hours each day from 2pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

Anyone not familiar with the area, if you like a good walk as well as good soul, then literally two hundred yards from the venue is the superb Stanwick Lakes, with several miles of paths around different lakes and a cool visitor centre with cafe too if you just want to sit with a drink in peace and look out at the birds (so to speak!). More on their website if interested... http://www.stanwicklakes.org.uk/northampton/

Only a couple of months away and really looking forward to it...had some great nights at The Courtyard over recent years, but this is a first where both sides of the venue are being opened up for two rooms of SOUL. Great stuff! :)

Only a couple weeks and counting down to the big weekend of soul...still some tickets left for anyone pondering where to go that weekend and really will be something for everyone across both rooms, superb DJ line up and Len or Jem will no doubt post times for both rooms during the next week.

Top quality sound systems in both rooms and we'll also have CDJs as well as turntables in the second room for all the great recent and decent soul dancers that just don't get released on vinyl, played alongside modern classic favourites that just seem to get better with age.

See ya there then:thumbsup:

Wow where do we begin! Just got back from our first Weekender at The Soul Junction. Simply amazed with the amount of people that attended and supported the event! literally 'packed to the rafters' (as the venue does have rafters) Jo & Alec The owners of The Hotel were in attendance on Saturday and as a result are very keen for us to do it again, so we will be working on dates for the next one soon! Thanks to all the staff at Stanwick Hotel, all that helped behind the scenes, all the DJs fantastic sets! And the biggest thanks to all those that chose to buy a ticket and share the Weekend with us! Big Love ...I am so tired now lol! ktf Jem
