Return of the Droylsden Northern Soul Allnighters 8th Aug 2009 It's been over 15 years since the original Droylsden Allnighter back in the early 90's at The Concord Suite so a nice gap between venues lol, The Starlight Club is bang across the road from The Concord Suite so people should have no problems finding the venue, this is a hidden gem of a venue and as soon as I went and had a look at it I simply knew it was perfect to host an Allnighter, the club owner is a top bloke and is on my s

North Wales Soul Clan's Northern soul night @ Rhyl Townhall has had to be cancled due to the local council pulling the plug, because it did not want to be open after 12 and so yet again another good venue gets lost to us, because our elected local councils dont want to support our efforts to keep soul alive in north Wales, but we will "keep the faith" and keep looking for another venue.

Los Angeles soul man Rudy Love (and his Love Family) has a fascinating story going back to the early 60s and incorporating many great producers and acts along the way. An independent film on his colourful musical life will be shown at the Raindance Music Documentary on Sept 29th, followed by an after-film gig at the 100 Club. 6TS supporter John Smith (aka member roburt) was instrumental in getting the film and gig together and we all have danced to Rudy's 'Suffering Wrath' down those fam

A few of you will know that there is going to be a change of management at the Benn Hall & that we were concerned as to whether our all-nighters were still going to go ahead. We have been pushing for answers since October last year when they wouldn't take deposits for any event after February. We have finally been told that there shouldn't be a problem. Panic over (hopefully) and thanks to everyone who showed their concern & support.

Saturday the 23rd of June is the next installment of the Rugby Soul Club allnighters. Why is this significant I hear you ask ? Quite simply because it's the only allnighter on this weekend, and in these days of overkill with venues, that is significant in itself. Rugby has established itself as one of the major allnighters over the last few years and is fast approaching it's tenth anniversary, something not achieved by most allnighters these days. More than that t

Despite a fire , caused by an electrical fault, S.O.S will go ahead on Saturday night. Landlord Andy Livesey has pulled out all the stops in an emergency clean up operation, and we are assured that the place will be open as normal by tomorrow. Unfortunately, the p.a. system was destroyed so it will be back to "old faithfull", my 800 watt Yamaha rig!! We look forward to seeing old and new soulies alike. Best wishes to all, Al D.

Runcorn Pavilions - Runcorn Pavilion was on last nite, with Ginger being the main guest. First visit there, and a impressive venue. Billed and run as an across the board nite, and with a policy of totally leaving it up to the DJ to decide what to play, did bit of an early spot there which as always enjoyed. This is Ginger Taylor's residency and one of the UK's premier Northern Soul Venues. Research the internet for BBC, London Standard and Telegraph and Argus etc News.
