Altrincham Soul Club

Another great turnout last night at Altrincham Soul Club, especially with there being so many events on locally but it was great to see a mix of regulars and new faces in! 

We had plenty in early doors where we began with some underplayed type stuff, a few of mine included TSU Toranadoes-Please Heart Don't Break, The Ethics-I Want My Baby Back, Jobell-Never Gonna Let You Go, Lee Williams & The Cymbals-She Came From A Country Town & Bobbie Smith-Walk On In To My Heart, Magic Night-If You And I Had Never Met.

Our guest DJ Bernard Heap played his first spot of the night and played a mixture of Northern and Motown to get them up dancing, followed by Nick who played some stunning sounds continuing to playing to the floor.

We were then back on for our main spot with an emphasis on playing right across the board which means there is something for everyone! Some stand out records were Cliff Nobles-My Love Is Getting Stronger, The Puffs-I Only Cry Once A Day Now, Soul Bros Inc Pyramid, The Epitome Of Sound-You Don't Love Me mixed in along with the requests which again were ATB with stuff like Soul Brothers Six-I'll Be Loving You, The Dells-Run For Cover, DJ Genesis-Tribute To Betty and Johnny Bristol-Love No Longer Has A Hold On Me. 

Then it was back to Bernard and Nick who continued to keep them dancing. It was great to hear stuff like The Topics-Booking Up Baby, The Natural Four I Thought You Were Mine and Beloyd-Get Into Your Life mixed in with old favourites like The Contours-Just A Little Misunderstanding.

We ended with a few slower tracks including Marion Stewart-I Must Be Losing You, Spice-For Old Times Sakes, Ruby Andrews-Just Loving You and Chi Chi-If You're Gonna Love Me.

Loads of great compliments on Facebook regarding the quality played throughout the night and the variety which we believe in to make sure everybody gets to hear something they like!
