Our aim is a proper old school soul do in the Bournemouth/Poole area again. In the "Spirit of the Uni' is a nod towards Dave's old club nights at Bournemouth Uni - so if you went to them and were disappointed when the venue was re-developed and they ended, come and lend us a hand in building upon (and improving) the foundations laid a few years back.  Loads of things going on locally, but none really bring in out of area DJ's to keep it fresh and lift the bar musically to the levels we all deserve.
The only music policy is Original Vinyl Only - other than that the DJ's (residents Dave Morris; Steve Malpass; & Stuart Ross - plus carefully selected guests) can play what they like across the broad Soul Spectrum. I'm very much of the view "if you don't clear the floor at least once in every set... you're not trying hard enough". BUT of course it's not about us - it's all about YOU. So if you're planning on coming along to get SOULcial with us and have any sensible requests - please let us know in advance.

Venue is The Newtown (Cons), and we will be using the smaller room (best of the two rooms) so self contained with our own bar & facilities. The dance floor will be 100% drinks fee and only used for what it is intended for... Loads of free parking round the back, and our own outside area for catching fresh air, smokey air, or just a cool down.

The beautifully refurbished Kirk Hallam Social Club is just a few minutes from J25 and J26 of the M1. The beech wooden dance floor is sublime, and huge! Sound system is crystal clear, there's a great chill out room to the side.
Every month features the highest quality guest DJs picked for their outstanding record collections and ability to appeal to the feet and ears of our crowd.
This month's guests is Notts legend Rob Smith and our good friend and supporter of Byron, Dave Eyley. Needless to say the records played will be excellent.Residents Simon Richard and Stu Teece (Nev can't make this one) keep the tunes flowing throughout the rest of the night.
