Maybe a bit late for this but worth a go:

Just found this when cleaning up the desk top. Who's this blue eyed lady that had a Northern Soul played in the 70s then?

(edit: See next post for pic)

No embarrassment in having a punt folks. I'll take questions to which I can give yes / no answers if you like. No actual clues until we've had a few more guesses though.

...Where does T.rex fit into this equation??!!....Is she one of The Paper Dolls?!

Sunny sang back up on 20th Century Boy. And also sang with Dusty, Mott The Hoople, Joe Cocker, Love Affair

Like I said though - not from UK so not Paper Dolls either, mate.

muriel day ? or nita rossi,

Muriel Day was Irish and Nita Rossi English, although of Italian descent. You know that other continent I mentioned? I meant not Europe - including the British Isles

Nita Rossi did some good stuff though, didn't she?

Not Nikke Blu or April Stevens. Played later than those two I think. Not as well known as April either.

Well done for having a go though

oh - isn't any of those two either.

No hits of any kinbd as far as I can tell so gals like Toni are right out. Bernadette Peters has been in Ugly Betty. There's speculations she has had 'work' as she was born in 1948

No to all of those. And;

1/ Wendy Dubbin - get a grip!

2/ Ken - Timi is too well known

Come to think of it, Stevejan, Geri Grainger is too. As far as I know this lady only had two records. The Northern one and the one I nicked this pic from

You're all good sports though

Its not Sandy Posey, who did A Single Girl and had a Northern Soul song "Caution to the Wind". biggrin.gif

Two records?....is it Linda Lyndell

Two records?....is it Linda Lyndell

Nope = good call re: two records. However, neither of this girl's records were hits. The one known to the souls scene sounds like it from around 1970 (at a guess) and is a pop record that got played in the 'anything goes' years. I think it's pretty rare but so unfashionable it wouldn't stand a chance these days. Someone liked it enough to throw it up on Youtube though

The other record I know of I haven't actually heard. Judging by this pic I would guess a sort of 'teen' thing. Sounds like there's a Motown connection with this one too - don't think there is however.

More clues when I get back from work

None of those but you're all getting warmer - or was until Sheldon's Jackie De Shannon (nothing personal!) :) She had an amazingly successful career if you count the stuff she's written.

I'm still willing to answer questions with 'yes' or 'no' answers if you like. Otherwise I'll give some clues after tea

hmm:huh: ...Ann D'Andrea?

Rita DeCosta??!! :)

Rita had quite a reputation as a jazz singer I believe. Her Northern record is far better than this gal's too.
