both have the same girly backing in the chorus singing "we must have love" so were they recorded in same studio or even in same session ?

is it the same girls on both tracsks could it be the rayons ?

there must be quite a few other examples of this kind of thing.........

I don't think it's the fuller brothers pretending to be different people, it's producer ron carson reusing the same backing track on different artists. love and brotherhood were a real group, i have a photo of them, and they're not the fuller brothers as far as I know (although I guess I never checked against a photo of the fuller brothers to see if they looked the same).

this thread brings up a good point, would artists that record today get away with using the same backing track for two songs? i guess ill have to start that one now lol

Can't think of any artist reusing a backing from one of their own songs, but an artist using some other backing is quite common practice - maybe not in it's original form - just sampled loops etc.

Pete S put me in touch with Kenney Harrison of the Promatics, they were a totally different group, he's pretty cool, they were also from the bay area and sang backup on a few other tracks including Lonnie Hewitt "Gotta keep my bluff in" and Marvin Holmes and Justice on Brown Door.

unlimited four was definitely the new jersey chanson label though. international five was GM pressed and detroit connected though, we were discussing in another thread that there appears to be two "chanson" operations, I don't know what the connection was.

maybe there was some connection, I don't know. in the other thread matt w. was saying that he thought there was a connection between the domestic five and the international five. It would be cool to get to the bottom of it.

Chuck Corby reused the backing and some of the phrasing of the "Soul Communicators - Those Lonely Nights" when he was asked to reform the Dell Vikings (even though he wasn't in the original line up) , on "Finger Poppin' Woman" in the late 1970's
