November 9, 200915 yr Me again, I know JM only has this valued at £100, I think it's a lot harder than that. Any views ? ATB Steve The going rate for a Spartans is around 300-350......it's definitely a tough record to find, ask John Anderson. I saw him pay 300+ for it a few years back at Essence, and I think he knows about rarity and value. The flip also makes it collectable by the group and deep soul guys.
November 9, 200915 yr Great record no idea of value i want one thou Come on Ted, catch up......I used to play it Albrighton......
November 9, 200915 yr Last copy on ebay - July last year - $414.00 Wrong ...there was one on last week that went for less .....was vg+ and had a soundfile that was decent. Was a wee bit gutted myself ,having paid Cliff a bit more for his ,just recently...but still a happy chap cos its a very nice choon indeed and will hopefully start to get the recognition it deserves. Co-incidently Lee (perux) had one on his site for £500 last week and will probably still be there Oddly it did however appear on his site ,just after the ebay copy sold
November 9, 200915 yr Come on Ted, catch up......I used to play it Albrighton...... ah that why they never asked you back
November 9, 200915 yr Careful though it's styrene and some of the copies are a bit knackered, mine is ok though still
November 10, 200915 yr ah that why they never asked you back Quite possibly Ted...............ahead of my time again..........
November 10, 200915 yr Great record..................big spin for Chic (Shrewsbury) & Mark Speakman (North Wales) Regards Ricardo.
November 10, 200915 yr flips a treat SPARTANS-FORGET HER NAME - anyone background info on these guys?
November 10, 200915 yr flips a treat SPARTANS-FORGET HER NAME - anyone background info on these guys? Agree with you on the flip Mike..it's pretty special. I thought they might be the re-formed 50's group, but none of the Era credits match the 50's line-up. The Soul Harmony only lists Jimmy & The Spartans on Satellite, but no group line up credits...likely it's a different group.
November 10, 200915 yr Keith Money used to play this out. Two great sides. 350 + the last time I saw one.
November 10, 200915 yr Author Keith Money used to play this out. Two great sides. 350 + the last time I saw one. Yeah ! He played it at the last Luton event. On Kenny's Farewell outing, pure quality. I'll never forget the two of them doing the warm up spot, playing what they like to hear, and not just what the're expected to play. Priceless Steve
November 11, 200915 yr Yeah ! He played it at the last Luton event. On Kenny's Farewell outing, pure quality.
