Hamburg Soul Weekender 2010 - Crackin Weekend

Recommended Posts

Well, what can I say,

went over last weekend to Hamburg to spin a few @ the fabulous alldayer sessions of one of the best weekenders in Germany. Had a superb weekend in a fantastic city! The weekender crowd were well up for dancing at night to everything: northern, r'n'b and modern, loved it. The atmosphere was BRILLIANT!!!! Ralf and The Jan played fabulous hosts for our 3 day stay in Germany's soul city No.1 !!! Well done guys!

Well worth a visit next year for anyone who's interested in a great weekend, such friendly people and loads of killer choons played by Butch, John Weston, Brett Franklin, Barbara Grassi, Marc Forrest, Lars Bulnheim, Tolbert, Peter Werhand, The Jan & Ralf Mehnert and of course by all the other DJs that weekend!!! Great to properly get to chat to the soulies from all over Germany, England, Switzerland a.s.o.

Once again great great weekend..see ya at the next one fo sho!!!

cheers, m.

I'll second that.

I don't get out as often as I would like, but when you do make it out, and the event is as good as this....... just awesome.

The videos and photo's all brought a big smile back to my face. They just take you straight back.

You all should be very proud of what you have over there - make sure it doesn't ever change.

Thanks again,

Jamie

Not just your playlists. We need some of your funny anecdotes from the weekend as well.

Here`s my first:

While playing the last set on sunday morning one of the girls from the Gruenspan Club came on stage to stop me around 7.45h, because the old Punk group Killing Joke wanted to start the soundcheck for their concert later the day soon. Think she came again 4 or 5 times...

...and wasn`t there something with a broken toe and a record box? ...but I`m not sure about that.

you were missed on the boat, buddy!

Glad that the Franklin Cohort enjoyed the weekend to the max- although Richard needs to practice more for next year:D .

So many happy faces that weekend and you could barely walk a square metre without bumping into a familiar person with a grin on his/her face.

Especially nice to see some friends from the UK again, Mark and Liz, Brian (Terry:) ) and Jill, Gary Hodgson from Rotherham, Kev and Philomena, Roddy and Katherine, Mark and Naoko, "human bullet" Johnny Weston, who nearly bumped me off the boat, haha, and so on.

To say it was a fantastic weekend is a bold understatement, thanks again to all involved!

Roll on 2011,

Stefan

Well some fantastic memories of the playlists so far, its all coming back, gotta say from the very best (Butch, especially Saturday in the Modern room) to all the other dj's, the quality was of such a high order, everyone just dancing, more and more people coming on board, truly inspirational, just like to say massive thanks to all the punters who came up to me after the Sat/Sun and gave me such high compliments, it was heart warming and just made an extraordinary weekend that more special.
