There are a couple of soul records which sound to me like they have influences from other countries in the world. For example:

BOBBY TREETOP: Wait 'Til I Get To Know You (has a Chinese-sounding intro)

WENDELL WATTS: Kiss A Good Thing Goodbye (the intro sounds like something from a vintage Bollywood movie!).

Anyone think of any more?

Love it!

E RODNEY JONES - R&B TIME

starts like its a chineses movie theme

Not surprising really Shute, it's the same backing track as the Bobby Treetop record that Gene mentioned above

If you like your Chinese starters, how about Bob Brady and the Conchords- Everybodys going To A love In.

Sonji Clay - Deeper in my Heart - is based on a Japanese/oriental tune

Linzer and Randell paid homage to Bach's " Minuet In G Major " with this classic recording

Sadly in respect of the same song , the word classic cannot be applied to this .......
