Cunnie
Event Title: North Lancs Soul Festival Weekender Event Author: Cunnie Calendar: Allnighter/Weekenders Event Date: Fri 20 May 2011 ------------------------------------------------- The 5th North Lancs Soul Festival will take place on 20th, 21st & 22nd May 2011 in Morecambe, Lancashire. The full weekend Festival programme is nearing its final structure though I can tell you at this time that the Festival will mostly be based at Smokey O'Connor's utilising their 3 rooms across the weekend, although there are still some further programme options being considered. As in previous years, the weekend Festival will be advertised and run as a Free Festival, holding the concept and ethos of our unique Festival intact; so we will continue with a free door policy to access the entertainment at Smokey's, making this a superb weekend "celebration of soul". Promotion of the festival to the general public will be launched at the end of the month which will include poster / flyer design by Roger Williams along with a new stand-alone website which is currently under construction. We will officially kick off the Festival at 2pm on Friday 20th at Smokey's right through until late on Sunday 22nd May. In an addition for this year and in conjunction with the Festival, I've arranged for The Platform (Morecambe's entertainment venue) to host Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band on the Saturday night at 8pm. This is not an official Festival event and therefore not a free event, however for those who are attending the Festival and who also wish to attend this event, I have arranged for discounted tickets to be available and you will be able to purchase your discounted tickets over the phone with a "unique purchase code" that will be posted on this thread within in the next few days. Geno Info Festival DJ's will be attending from all across the UK for the weekend, and with more names to follow already confirmed for the event include (in no particular order); Roger Williams Shaun O'Connor Terry Gee Andy Lett Paul Jones Steve Naylor Gordon Stone Wakefield City Soul Club Kev Oxberry Gary Johnson Nev Griffiths Bob "The Crate" Smith Paul Collins Steve Edgar David Marshall Shaun Milward Pete Medows Seaside Soul Club Brett Franklin Dave Hulmes Eddy Edmondson Martin Dixon Grange Soul - Darlington Alan Barnes Steve Plumb More news as it gets sorted. Cunnie
Err, not got a hotel booked yet so if anyone got a link or a phone number to a cheap & more importantly very local hotel / B&B I'd be greatful. (Preferably not the Eidsforth though as the 8am breakfasts nearly bloody killed me last year). Link to comment
