Oooh so very hard to secure Detroit Northern Soul - utilizing the arrangement of Stewart Ames - King For A Day - Jock Mitchell skates through his own production with the same expressive vocal delivery we all adored on his Impact recordings - this session though, is heighten by fabulous use of harmony-group background vocals - so shrill they evoke visions of pure-mystery surrounding this “Nomad Woman” - absolutely riveting piece of Motor City Northern. Please note: ALL of the very times we have encountered this 45 all have very light background noise. We believe this is an production flawNOT a wear fault. In the end, this fabulous tune that lays in the grooves - overrides this minor annoyance, totally.

I thought the Jock Mitchell was cheap too, was tempted to bid even though I rarely buy these days. The sound file was the wrong side which might not have helped.

I've always regretted putting my Delettes mint white demo on my sales site at a price I didn't think anyone would buy it for to make the site look better, only to see it bought after a week or so.

two questions in one here...867 UKP aint cheap in general. A Melvin Davis/Wheel City @ 867 is very reasonable not to say "cheap" IMO ? When did you last see one ? And what was the selling price ? I would have thought its 1K at least...seem to remember a copy being advertised on here a couple of years ago for sth like 1200 UKP (Pete Smith on a comission sale maybe ?)

I was offered a Melvin Davis last year for £700. Already had it but.....it sounds a bit boring, to me it is really a collectors piece now rather than a DJs delight. Sorry for the abuse, I know it's a classic

I wouldn't say £867 cheap Marc, about right maybe? If you'd asked me few weeks ago how much I would have thought 800 for Melvin Davis. One on popsike from two yeas ago which sold for $1300. Have seen others for sale over the last couple of years.

Marc still think jock mitchell is over priced and certainly wasnt expensive in the 90's either

Although I think the intensions is a great record, I still think it's a rip off of "The Capitols - I Got To Handle It" anyone else see the similarities
