Nice Collection On The Bay, 4,300 and Reserve Still Not Met

No but find him on here, there was a topic about 3 days ago where he says he's going to sell his records.

jack montgomery, you mention 1st press is ther a2nd press as im after a copy any help on this.

i put a bid in early on but was soon outbid....i might find out what the reserve is then go from there

the box they come in was worth that on its own......

at a glance looks like a collection of boots, reissues with odd decent on win there. Didn't see anything of value whilst glancing down the list although I didn't study the list.

i've got a box of stuff I baught when I started collecting I might stick up on ebay as a collection.

Theres a few in there that are decent - Victors demo - Garnet Mimms UK Issue / Gene Mcdaniels Uk issue - Incredibles Uk issue Barons / Jackie lee /Sam & Bill/

Once again can I point out that the seller is on here, he told everyone he was going to sell them on ebay (despite being advised not to :lol: ) and I'm sure he'll tell you what the reserve is if you ask him. Think it's soulboy 1965, the chap who's partner had to go into rehab, hence his record sale

To be fair there's over 700 records.

If the reserve is £5K, then it's stil under £7 a record.

It may not be attractive to a seasoned collector, but if you want an instant collection to cherry pick and build on then who's to say what it's worth?

There's plenty of 45s in there that could be originals, boosting the value.

Yes but we wont go there.

I hope the guy does sell them and as hes on here as Pete Says he will have a good idea of value and what the least is he will accept- The problem is when you need money even your lowest what you will take will be tested.

as already said a collection of mainly reissues, with a few "may be" usa originals ie del larks, little johnny romans,

millionaires etc which are stated with just there label listings, but thinking about it if these were originals i would

show pictures of them.

some nice uk stuff in there, but if i was gonna spend 5k+ i would make the journey down the A14 just to check, but i suppose a nice starter/cherry pick collection

I did offer to help price and/or sell these for him but asked that any reissue was noted as such, for whatever reason he wasn't interested but if you're then going to put them on ebay it's just ridiculous not to let people know what they are buying.

i would have taken any advice and help to get the best possible price for most probably a "few years" worth

of collecting with most probably some emotional contact

as the person who i think i know is a member on here surely help from the likes of you pete would be very valuable

As some on here may not know they are to being sold to pay for medical bills for his partner and he needs every penny he can get.

There are amongst the collection many originals too I thought I'd mention as most people are only picking up on the pressings/ reissues it seems.

I sold him a number of the originals in this collection, Jack Montgomery, Eddie Bishop, Crampton Sisters, Susan Barrett, Epitome Of Sound, Eddie Holman to name just some so go through the listing(s) carefully.

If there are any genuinely interested folk on here looking for a collection to buy then this would be a great lot to go for. I know Mark would welcome any serious offer but considering there is approximately 16k of retail value for this lot I think you should be prepared to pay a bit more than 6K.

Ask Mark directly on here and I'm sure he'll tell you the reserve price if your interested.

Missing the point I was trying to make - he needed to mark every single record as original/reissue etc, then people can price up the collection. Not have to guess what things are.

Sorry Pete but I wasn't trying to answer your point. I was just saying what I thought mate.

I'm sure if there was anyone seriously interested they could view the whole collection and find out themselves if in any doubt. I know some people have already.

If your laying out a substantial amount of money I'm assuming you would want to see what your paying out for "in the flesh" so to speak before eh?
