Hi all

The first record i bought was Frankie & Classicals "What Shall i Do" on Pye Disco Demand, from Violet Mays in Sheffield for 80p with my school diner money, then as many as i could buy on the Casino Classics label all from K&D Records in The Sheffield Castle Market (it's still there as well) sadly they have all long gone all car booted by my non soul loving ex husband i had over 200 records in a wooden case (and quite a lot of sought after British and American originals that came from my sisters and parents) he let the lot go for £15, and thought he was the bees knees for doing so :(

our les turned up at home one saturday morning with a shiney face and a more wild eyed gaze than usual, clutching a copy of thank you baby by the soul brothers six , which i kept , ( even though he took a hammer to the tunes i later bought , brothers,eh?) , still got it. partly because he kept the hammer, and because the record kindled my love for everything by these fantastic artists.

Watched the now famous documentary of Wigan Casino whenever it was in the seventies, then went out and bought Rain With Charity Brown, Out Of My Mind. Probably from Kev Thomas' shop in Nottingham

Human beinz Nobody but me have i still got it,no way ,not after the amount of ups and downs and to and froing I ve had over the last thirty odd years, lucky to still have my breath, seriously I was never a collecter but did aquire a few records here and there. I was spoilt as I used to be able to listen to Wilkys collection and always used to play his stuff during the week which consisted of a lot of the big and rare sounds of the time. Some good soul sessions round his house well remembered as were the refreshments provided.
