Possibly the best funk double-sider from the Caribbean. Fantastic record, Meters-esque heavy funk sounds.. Uptempo killer A side and and a heavy midtempo Funk flip makes this a superb doublesider

Monster Northern / Modern Soul 45 that created a big buzz when discovered a while back. Got some heavy dj action around Europe. Great flip, too!

Killer doublesider, funky soul and deep funk flip. Under radar so far of the funk heads and should get more plays.

Rare Funk with an undeniable intro (listen till 1.00 min when the drums and horns come in, blows you away!!!), just doesn't turn up anymore

11. BETTY WRIGHT í…¾Circle Of Heart Breaks" (ALSTON)

"Circle Of Heart Breaks" is currently one of the hottest sounds on the funk and northern soul scenes. It's a big spin for Ian Wright at the moment and lots of other people have also been picking up on it lately. It's one of Betty Wright's hardest to find 45s on the Alston label and it's an absolutely superb dancer! Listen here:

Rare mod hammond psych funk, very mad hammond break, absolutely insane.

Flip is with vocals but I prefer the instrumental side. Was a 500USD record not so long ago but some copies turned up and the price dropped. Source dried up and price will come up again!

13. RENNAISSANCE OF RHYTHM í…¾There is no time" (RMP)

HEAVY drum intro. Incredible raucous funky dancer that hasn't really hit the uk scene yet, Northern, r &B edged stormer of which there were a handful of copies. B-side is a rock-and-roll guitar-and-sax instro very unlike the A-side and has been comped. But the crazy A-side is quite unknown so far.

Super rare Cincinnati, Ohio deep dancefloor funk. Everyone in the band gets a break, including the drummer! Flipside is amazing as well. This was a huge Ian Wright spin a few years back.

Raucus uptempo funky soul very in demand. A few sold at a touch more than this a couple of years ago. Not seen any more since. Flipside is í…¾deep soul with a beat" of the highest order championed from people like Marc Forrest and other well known djs.

Plays with some light noise, this is in the pressing and every copy has it. Excellent moody soulful dancer with a funky edge, currently getting played in the UK by DJs like Karl Heard.

Would perfectly fit into the funky Northern category.
