Can we invent a term for the ebay c**ts who register, win rare items then f**k off?

Just happened to me on my Kooly 12" which went for $477 to someone registered as 'mattpoor2011' with a private feedback of 0

Matt Poor with a London address living in the imaginatively named 'London Street'

He also f**ked up another guy selling a rare 12" too

Can we invent a term for these snivelling low-life t**ts?

Oh and the hoops and procedures you have to go thru with ebay US to get your selling fees back is ridiculous too

Right that's that off my chest, even if I get no suggestions, at least i feel better now

Been happening on the reggae section for over 3 years now, probably over 2000 auctions ruined all by the same person, day after day - it's completely ruined Ebay reggae. My last THIRTY auctions were all sabotaged Steve, you're lucky to get away with one.

if they're in the same country as you and aren't a fake bidder (like the reggae guy) but instead a newbie / flaky person / computer illiterate, request their contact information and call them and politely ask what the deal is. Getting up in people's face is often effective.

they have isp addresses so ebay can find out who they are surely,

this is fraud so why don't they do something as it must be costing them money,

you can stipulate what feedback a buyer has before being allowed to bid, that would then make it impossible for 'snivelling low-life t**ts' with a feedback of 0, to bid.

You can only block bidders with less than zero feedback. But as Ebay doesn't allow neg feedback for buyers it's impossible to get a feedback rate of less than zero unless you're selling stuff.

Furthermore Ebay can't be arsed about finding out who the fake bidders are.

sorry, your right, i'm sure its changed in the last few years.

you can still block people without a credit card or a paypal account, this may get rid of some fake bidders.

But if it was an auction and you can offer it to the 2nd highest bidder, then the fake guy has pushed your bids up and done you a favour really. Not saying it's ok just saying...

But thats totally wrong, and I always offered it to the second bidder at the price he would have won it for. Unfortunately not everyones got those principals...in fact it makes you wonder if that could be a factor!

The Reggae fake bidders (Carlos and more recently 1 or two of his mates from what I understand) is mentally ill and thinks he's on a crusade. He's so determined to ruin each and every Ska and early Reggae auction on Ebay, he's got literally dozens if not 100s of different accounts, using fake addresses and stolen credit card details.

What i intend to do is completely ignore the c**ts bids, then look at the second bidder and see what he would have won it for if the t*at hadn't bid. then if i feel it's high enough, i'll offer it them with a full explanation.

In this case the second bidder outbid a different third bidder, so his 'winning' bid is a genuine one and one i won't have a problem offering it to them BUT if it were me, i'd be smelling rats and probably wouldn't take the second chance bid, particularly at such a high amount nearly 9 days down the road (thanks to ebay's policies i couldn't free it up any earlier!)

These fake f**kers really know that it will cause a load of unwanted hassle and ebay don;t really make it easy either.

You can only block someone on minus feedback but some of the other ideas are worth looking at?

yeah, looks like i might have coined a few phrases for them but i'm liking 'ebay fake bidding f**kers' at the moment

I GET HIT 4 TIMES by the fake reggae bidder, to let others know hes a shit i give him positive feedback and state well done you have faked bid another item again(this lets others know not to expect payment,,sensible i think) e bay downgrade my compliance rating and tell me if i do this again i am suspended, when i ask why they tell me the buyer complained about me(dont all laugh at once this is 100% true

Unbelievable. Just about sums them up. I've lost count of the amount of times I complained to customer service about what was going on, I even told them in advance some of the auctions that he would hit, guess what, THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE ME!

try to register with e bay very very easy, try to sell automated phone calls to confirm your number , input numbers they give you, only can sell first 15 items using paypal as your payment method etc etc, why the difference because 60% of their customers dont have a credit card so they cant be made to follow the sellers strict criteria do e bay care no because its the seller only who suffers, they sent me a e mail to say one of his fake bids would not count as he was no longer a registered user, could i get my fees back ,no i could not as the seller was no longer registered the sale never existed so i had no item number or the system would not reconize the sale as the buyer no longer existed ,you could not make this up

yeah, it's against ebay policy for sellers to write negative comments as positive feedback. When they first disabled negative buyer feedback there was a moment from sellers to put de-facto negatives saying "NEGATIVE: ....." in the positive feedback, so ebay made that rule.

this is a big subject on this other message board i'm on that's filled with dealers. apparently it's some incoherent rant about racism and collectors or something like that. there's some special members-only group you can join on the internet that gives you a huge blocked bidder list that corresponds with his bidders.

The only way round this problem is to list it as a "Buy it Now" and that you require Instant Payment (paypal) for the transaction to go through . Hope that makes sense .. Cheers Paul
