I'm sorry. I'm not sure I understand your question.

Think what he is saying is all copies are issues or stock copies. Was there any demonstration copies or Disc Jockey copies?

The B side is interesting as well, it uses the same backing as The Volumes Girl Have Pity.

We never sent white lable DJ copies to radio stations. So this, and all others, is a market version. I Need Help was recorded at Artie Fiels Productions in Detroit. They were all studio musicians and I've long forgotten who all played on it. I co-produced this side but gave the production credit to my friend, Carl Spelbring (who did most of the work). The vocal side was recorded at United Sound Systems in Detroit and Produced by Don Davis. Don owned the rights to Girl Have Pity and we used parts of the track on the background. Girl Have Pity was recorded by The Fantastic Four, not the Volumes. The background vocals on this were done by Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent, later of Tony Orlando and Dawn. At the time, Telma was my wife.

How does the boot on this look in the deadwax? I see texts about the original being stamped but does the boot just have clean deadwax or is it engraved in any way?

Yeah i managed to get info by searching the web a bit.

As i gathered the original is stamped with a Nashville matrix number and the boot has a scratched serial number + a bit more blurry text on the print (?)

Reading that reminded me of something interesting that I'd forgotten about years ago.

Telma & Joyce were actually cousins and initially started out as The Debonaires on Golden World before going onto making a living as backing singers at Motown & Stax.
