I always thought that the vinyl copies of Voices Of East Harlem - Cashing In with the different label designs were bootlegs, but this one I've got has a very clear Bell Sound stamp in the run off - so are they real?

According to JM guide the bell sound stamp is fake.

I'd have to say he's wrong - it's a perfect Bell Sound stamp

forget the stamp, maybe the give away here is the label...??

dont really matter pete....the bottom end records (value wise) the boots fetch a similar amount to the origs anyway! stupid i know,but thats how it is.

I had both and think they were the same stamp...both Bell.

Compare the angles of the line in the "B" on your copy to the ones in the link above. If it is like the "B" on the styrene original, then I guess the vinyl one you have is original too. I'd love to have that one if so.

Okay I have used a magnifiying glass and although the print is way, way more defined than on that photo, it is the bootleg not the original, very very good stamp but not quite right

They are very similar but I think the difference in the "s" is easier to spot- as already said - what a lot of work to produce a boot
