Boogaloo
Well, what can I say. We moved to the new venue last night and were a bit worried as numbers seemed to be down on some of the soul nights I've been to over the last couple of weeks, coupled with Bonfire night we weren't confident that we would have a busy night. How wrong we were with people coming in at 8, before we had even finished setting up. Djs on the night were myself, Stevie Clegge, Anton, Michelle and Chris Dale playing the whole spectrum of classics, current floorpackers, rare soul and the odd really, really obsure tune that either draws you to the decks to find out what it was either in disgust or to add to your current wants list. Great thing about the new venue is that we are on til 1pm, although some of the regulars were still chatting and singing (yes singing) when we had finished packing up at 1.30. Big thanks to all those who made it a fantastic night, same again next week for our monthly Motown night. Don't have time to list the other's playlist but here's a sample of the tunes played by me during my sets.
