How much does this new way of mailing stuff thru the PO affect 45s/LPs? Before we all get ripped off on ebay..... Anyone know? Apologies if dealt with in an earlier thread - Mods delete if necessary.

shoulnt be too much as they should get through the large letter slot.

Canada Post are changing there shipping criteria next week but I was told this week it SHOULD not affect cost!!!

I'll be posting some 45's in record mailers recorded delivery tomorrow or day after so if no-one else comes up with a definitive answer mate I'll tell you the cost.

I posted a load earlier today and for single 45s or single LPs there is very little difference with the new pricing. I think for 4 or 5 LPs it may even work out cheaper than before.

All that panic for nothing then !!!

Posted one recorded first class today and one special delivery insured for up to a thousand pounds - both in proper record mailers...

No real change on previous price 1.35 recorded and fiver special delivery..

someone on ebay wants to charge me three quid for 1st class recorded for a 45 as well!!

Personally thought they would have gone up - however we'll probably see the usual postage rip offs continuing!

I don't think the new pricing structure comes into force until August 25th.

I had to post a load of stuff this morning the only things that was dearer was sending a cd almost twice what it used to be, 45's and 12's were pretty much the same.

I was charged £3 last week , I was hacked off about it, but i did know how much it was before I bid on it but i just had to have that record.....you know how it is. Will be interesting to see if this seller puts his prices up even more now.

I asked in the post office the other day and the helpful girl in there weighed one 45 and put it thru that package sizing thing they have. She thinks its going to cost nearer £2.00, at the moment its £1.36......although she was keen to point out she had`nt had her training yet! chris

The new rates started today 21st August,I posted a 45 in a standard mailer(cantilever type) 2nd class recored for £1.20,i.e. NO CHANGE.....more info on

Air shipping for 1 45 from Canada to Europe has gone up $1 - bastards, now have to fill out Small Packet form as well!!

I've just posted 4 seperate singles and altho they all weighed differently,same packing etc lady in post office tried her new measuring device and charged me same for 1st class post...65 pence.No change from when I last sent some.

Maybe different when I take a packet down with 4 singles in the one altho' adjusted payment for that.

yep... posted a 45 out today. lady behind counter quoted 65pence for 1st class and 55pence for 2nd.
