Not sure Pete - but I am deaf. David Thomas sounds more like a black singer and has a slight lisp. Could be the tinnitus!

 

Hmmmm, could be, Jay D plays with much better clarity on the vocal than the David Thomas record but there is a similarity...even asked the wife she she thought they sounded similar.....I have a dreadful ear for this sort of thing so don't take much notice of me.....interesting though Pete, thank you for sharing.......Rob
