Hold Tight
Well the first nights been and gone I'm still coming down from the general buzz of the opening night. Firstly I would like to thank all the DJ's without who it would have been a long night for me and Kevin, play lists to follow. Secondly and in my opinion more importantly I would like to thank all the guys and gals who took it on themselves to come and check out the new night and venue on the coast. Especially those who really got it on and put some distance under their belts to get their. On the night given my usual bouts of last minute panic and forgetting half the stuff I should have remembered, I was really excited when we tallied up and found we had over 70 come through the doors plus the guest list of DJ's and partners, I total nearly 90 people at the opening night. Great turn out in my eyes. Anyway, the idea of this thread is not for me to spout on but for those who attended to have their say, all constructive comments are welcome, if something wasn't right please let me know, that's the only way we can try to improve things. On the other hand don't forget to mention what was good and what you liked. For those who couldn't make it, I am posting play lists and will start with mine; once the other guys see this I am sure they will put theirs up as well. Early slot ; Diane Lewis - My Love Little Eva - My direction Tommy Butler - Right on up to the weekend Archie Bell & the Drells -Here I go again Sid Barnes - I hurt on the other side HB Barnum - Heartbreaker The Majestics - It hurts me Little Johhny Taylor - Zig Zag Lightning Closing slot which was; Benny Spellman - This is for you my love Bobby Bland - Honey child Lee Maye - Have love will travel Roy Hamilton - Ypu shook me up Gerri Granger - Ain't it funny Gerri Thomas - Look what I got Dee Clark - That's my girl The Outsiders - Time won't let me Ray Scott and the Scottsmen - Right now The Shirelles - Last minute miracle The Flirtations - Nothing but a heartache Mar-keys - Last night The Delcos - Arabia Maxine Brown - Right back where we started from Pointer Sisters - Send him back Dougs Banks - I just kept on dancing Ben E King - I can't break the news to myself The Three Degrees - Contact So first night I had a great time and met loads of new soul-folk. I will let everyone know via the forum when the new website goes live with pics etc. all the best Mark Link to comment
