it came out in 1969 and there are stereo copies of a lot of 45s.... this is a pretty common..but yet great 45 and came out simultaineously imo

  • This is mine 100% original

  • To quote the well known source then. Both are legitimate releases the Mono being the Original US release and the Stereo  the 2nd issue.

the fact it was a crack in it and still asking £120 is a bit of a cause for concern. looks like a re issue to me

Only marking it up one grade without the crack !!!

As it was released in 1969/70 there could have been two production runs just when stereo was being introduced.

Both originals one just one slightly later than the other

It was reissued on CSP

yellow stock copies with "Stereo" word are early 1970s repressings & often sold as originals
original 1960s pressings have the wider print & also narrower print but a vinyl press not styrene.

early 1970s repressing that is still being offered at original prices.

the differences are STEREO, 45RPM in a different font, different wording at the label base & the catalog number is a different font.

it's the equivalent of 1970s Okeh repressings with the small 45, of low value, if still collectable.

Above is the quote from a well known source

£120.00 with a crack, sounds optimistic for sure.....................my original sold for £190.00

Yes as you say the first mono release is the original USA release, but i would think the 70's stereo copy was never released in the USA.

Probably all the copies were shipped to the UK because it was popular on the Northern Soul circuit.

So maybe not a 2nd USA issue as it doesn't have a later release number, but a special pressing made by Epic/Columbia for the UK?

Been at least three threads on here about this in the past, here's one of them;

With regards to the stereo copies, were they recorded at a lower volume? When I DJ'ed with my copy, it didn't seem too loud, and I had it on 6 out of 10 on the volume.

Best,
