Guest
Hopefully Rob will see this, If you do Rob, do you have any information on the vocalist on "The way you've been acting lately"? Thanks Link to comment Social source share
Robbk
I have a lot of Al Kent records, and on that cut the vocalist doesn't sound like him. We talked about this on Soulful Detroit, and came to the conclusion that Al Kent produced the instrumentals, and probably the vocal recording of "The Way You've Been Acting Lately" but that the singer is not him. I'll be curious to find out who it is. He didn't sound exactly like any Detroit singer I could recognise. Link to comment Social source share

Chalky
Al Kent said it was him, he didn't have the budget tompay a vocalist. Its in an earlier article and other topics which Rob wrote or replied too. Link to comment Social source share
Guest
OK Chalky thanks. Only heard about the doubt on a recent podcast. I had never come across this before. Link to comment Social source share
Robbk
I wonder why he sounded so different from his normal voice. Maybe, like Mary Wells on "Bye, Bye Baby", he was hoarse from several takes? Link to comment Social source share
Chalky
The paragraph after picture 8 Link to comment Social source share
Guest
There you go then. I wonder if the podcast DJ was getting confused with "You've got to pay the price", which in the early days was known as Al Kent, but is, as we know it is Dennis Coffey.
