This tune popped up on my PC on random play. Very nice and Its become a bit of an ear-worm

After a bit of googling it appears to only be available on a 5 x CD "Emperors of Soul" compilation.

Has it ever has a vinyl press (legal, not legal, white label)?

Anyone know.

According to the Can't Forget The Motor City web site, it's only available on the "Emperors Of Soul" CD.

Great track, would be nice on a single. It was on a CD Express Your Soul put out some years ago with Lev picking the tracks. Should be around quite cheap on the usual sites

Thanks for the comments. With the Mickey Stevenson connection its would hit the spot as an Anniversary single.

I was hoping for a freebie or other low volume press but I gues I#ll have to make do with a CD.

Tweaked and Played at +3 this track would would generate real dance floor action turns it from a shuffler to a dancer... Sorry to the keep it as is group, but it does sound better slightly quicker....

Definitely better - you are right. Probably get a telling off for pitching up but there are a few tunes that get that treatment. I seem to remember the Voodoo Working was usually pithed up (could have been +5).

I have this on a Detroit acetate 10 inch disc...im sure mine is a different cut

There you go....its a bit crackly. I have 2 Jobete acetates like this with a handful of unreleased cuts and some raw versions of tracks.

Wonderful piece of history,proving The Temptations were the best with or without David Ruffin.It so sad that Paul Williams was pushed to the background once David Ruffin joined them.

I have a listen and compare to the CD cut that just arrived. I wonder who has the acetate below?

That doesn't look real to me, I'd be very, very surprised if the above label really existed.............it looks like the words 'ACETATE', 'WITCHCRAFT' and 'THE TEMPTATIONS' have been added to a label scan using photoshop (or similar software).  Very easy to acheive with photoshop on a 'worn' scanned Gordy label of that era.

All the Motown and related acetates I've owned or ever seen have been like Wiggyflat's label in his scan/video.............plain(ish) paper or 'proper' studio acetate label with typewriter 'type' text.

Any other ideas anyone?

You are spot on,the style of this song is not that of HDH either. I think this was recorded about the same time as i want a love i can see. 

Well, I lifted it off of YouTube so it could easily be a homemade - I hadn't noticed but "Withcraft" is spelt incorrectly.

I am not suprised,Paul Williams on lead and defo the same musicians on both tracks.I wonder if Joe Hunter is playing on them as he was with motown until mid 63.

Such a Great track I had it cut up to vinyl so I can play it out.

Spun it last time I DJed at the 100 club and it went down a storm.

Hopefully fingers crossed  if theres another Motown Box set this will be on it.
