Thanks for the update, we have been talking about this release in the New Release topic since mid July , when other suppliers apparently via a leak in info , where taking pre - orders , seems strange that Daptone UK where only selling or promoting from today ?

Mine arrived from Juno on Tuesday, & from what info I'm able to collect others may have had their copies earlier.

As you say , totally agree possibly a future Northern Fave , depending on how many copies are available etc etc .

I think the same thing happend with Lee Fields Two Jobs and Sharon Jones I Don't Give Friend A Number. Both potential northern playlist tracks. Daptone UK also seem to reveal on the day more than pre order on 45s.

Arrived from Juno earlier in the week. ‘If you want me’ is great, but doubt we’ll judge it as a classic in a year or two.

Not as instant as Benjamin & The Right Direction – Light Of My Life but given the integration of AI, multiple genres and over promotion a lot of good tunes go under the radar on release don't do well and then the artist concerned changes the style of music they record. Hope they have an album released rooted in soul. The AI from Riker at least is rooted in Northern soul.

How can Daptone charge £6 when everyone else charge up to £20?

Have noticed if you wait for Daptone, you have to chance limited colour vinyl being sold out. Plus they only sell what other stockists have not bought and sometimes don't have many left at that price.

Hi Karl Juno £9.65 Inc vat , but Daptone UK like you say only £6. With choice of black or coloured vinyl , it's more than likely the same as the US price .

Got mine from Fish at Simply Soul for £9. He'd promoted it pre-release for a few weeks, maybe even a month. I had overlooked that it hadn't yet been released and thought I'd see if I could just pick up a copy directly from him at this month's Ease Your Mind, as he sells there each month.

So when I got his email noting it was now released I ordered, along with 3 other singles I'd been thinking of getting. Order placed on Thursday 21st, and they arrived in the post yesterday, 22nd.

It's certainly a great double header. As people have said, 'If You Want Me' is an instant like for the dance floor, but the flip side 'I Just Don't Want You to Say Goodbye' sits well in the Lowrider feel, straight ahead quality deep soul. And of course, it would always have been hard to ignore a record with that Womack pedigree!

I also got mine from Fish pre- ordered , 2nd copy from Juno for a mate & a coloured vinyl copy from Daptone UK for the hell of it , just wish they'd released it with a picture sleeve with some info on it.

I got 2, one from Picadilly and one from Juno. Both jump a few seconds from the end.

I don't want to contact suppliers if the problem might be my turntable.

It's odd that both have the same skip in the sane place.

Mine seems ok. Colour vinyl.

I gave it a spin at Whitchurch Soul Club Friday 29/08/25 got a good reaction and quite a few enquiring about it!!

It has a very authentic sound and good production but the song isn't' side material for me.

Mine's been fine, though if both of your copies skip in the same pace that does sound odd. I don't know how things work with batches of records pressed, maybe someone else can explain if it's a known issue that some records in a batch can have a fault even if the rest don't?

My black vinyl copy is fine , haven't played my coloured vinyl copy but was a little surprised that it wasn't released in a picture sleeve , did ask Niall at Daptone UK if it was a possibility sadly no , so I made my own , using card & a sticker like an album sleeve , so should offer some protection , for years to come .

Good point about black / coloured vinyl. When I replied to @Johnlloyd 's question I didn't think to mention that my copy is black vinyl (personally I'm not keen on the coloured versions so go for black where possible).

Play the other side far more to be honest. Not a dancer but awesome Soul.
