Guest dkd
Thanks Jon, it was a pleasure to have you spinning at our place. Two great sets there mate. It was a nice busy night for us and, as usual, it took a while to get the floor going but once they were up, they stayed there all night. I will post some of my plays up tomorrow - still recovering from getting to bed at 3.30 and then getting up at 8.00 to take my daughter swimming! Cheers, Dave Link to comment
Saxafone
Great night at Walls of, a "compact" venue with 2 bars within touching distance of each other, unfortunately unable to abuse either as on driving duties. Arrived just before John went on for his first set which I had been informed (warned) would be R&B based and it was !!! Whilst Martin (upsetter) was deep in all our yesterdays conversation with someone he hadn't seen since they were sent up East End chimneys together round about the time of queen victoria's funeral the next set included quite a few 70's reggae numbers which were popular and kept the floor amused. John's second set was tip top and martin and Nigel's foot tapping quickly developed into out and out floor manouvers, dangerous on the biggest floors - lethal in confined spaces like the Cavern ! The Taffmobile was full of happy punters for the return journey to deepest Essex with Martin raving about the Gino Washington number John had played. A sober / lubricated monty python type conversation then followed about Geno not being Gino. Just spent sunday in detox after all that non alcoholic stuff last night, we've added Walls of to the itinerary for future visits, when I won't be holding the car keys ! Guest andys165
Thanks to Jon for his sterling efforts at WOH on Saturday - and to those WOH virgins from Soul Source - good to see you. A good night fur us we reckon with the usual mix of classics and rarer stuff - just what our punters like. I seem to have lost my Rodger Collins 'She's Looking Good' at some point in the evening so if anyone spots it please shout. Andy Link to comment
Guest aaaaa
cant add much more than what taff says on his posting as the night all finished in a bit of a blur for me,however there were some great tunes being played by the djs and a good little venue will definatly be going back. Link to comment
