As far as I can work out, this was released on two labels:

Canyon 1000 £70 - £80 M-

Maple 9000 £40 - £60 M-

I've no idea how rare the demo is and based on the above it would depend on which label.

Hope that gives you some idea.

I just sold a mint unplayed demo on Canyon on ebay (6th March) for £65.99

No I think Canyon is the rare label. Been bubbling for a while but set to go me thinks. It's in my play box (Maple)

Yes I'd agree the Canyons are a lot rarer IMO, Am surprised it has'nt gone bigger yet - anyone know what kinda price the Chosen Few Lp "Taking all the Love I Can" on MAPLE goes for theseadays? B

I got my Birth of a playboy,Canyon Demo,from a junk shop mid 70s for 10p.

I sold it for a few pounds.

I try not to remember the other records I sold off when I was short of cash.

I've had this for years and always thought it was a boot, for no particular reason, but looking at it, it's got a 'bell sound' stamp on both sides & it's on vinyl, is it a first press?

The "Crown Four" issue on LEE JOHN looks very nice indeed! And it is definitely the rarest release for "Birth Of A Playboy". Not a different version though, it's the same recording as the Chosen Few releases.
