Another night of quality tunes with a decent turn out, considering the number of do's in Essex of late!

Travellers included people from as far afield as Hinckley, Morecambe (after taking in the game at Dagenham) and Yorkshire.

Our guest DJ Moldie certainly did the business

John, I agree it was a cracking turn out, in addition to the travellers you mention we had the Kent contingent, some of Dave's Walthamstow regulars and I seem to recall a rather splendidly dressed gentleman who came along with a gang from Wiltshire as well. Pics of said gent and his cracking jacket will be posted later. They had been to a Neville Staples gig in Southend and dropped in on us on their way home. So a great big thank you to everyone from near and far who joined us last night.

Moldie certainly had the dancefloor buzzing with a tip top set, one of the best we've had from a guest DJ without doubt and it was great to see the young lad (apologies name forgotten) giving our older talc trotters a lesson. Again, pics to follow.

We promoters are often accused of viewing our own nights through rose tinted specs, so in an attempt to balance that, I would say that we lost some of the buzz that Moldie and Paul had undoubtedly built up as we hit midnight. Some cracking sounds played but not the ones in my opinion to keep the dancefloor busy, a view clearly shared by others  .

Once the night starts I'm there first and foremost as a punter, apart from last minute panics like - we aint got any stylus, centres, dj deck light (thankfully the list hasn't included beer and records yet  ) So with my punters cap firmly in place my message would be "play to the dancefloor" boys, you strayed from that cardinal rule at times last night and paid the consequence.

We've built up the night by catering for the lost soulies of Essex, let's make sure we continue to give them what they want, not what we think they should want

Taff, punter and promoter

Yes another great night at capones  A fantastic job done by our resident dj,s and a special thanks to moldie for a top set and for the cds he gave out to those that wanted one thumbsup.gif photos already have been put up by rob in the albums section, we had 60 odd paying guests and another 30 odd that climbed up the drainpipe and crept in so numbers were quite good considering the currant climate. lets keep it going

Finally got around to posting up the pics from March 7th at Capone's. Had a slight detour since the night via Rome for a certain rugby match.

Pride of place must go to our youngest dancer (apologies again for forgetting your name, that Shandy at Capone's does terrible things to my memory :D ) Drop me a line and we'll make sure you are on our guest list for our next night in July.
