Promoters and DJβs Need To Watch This!
I Had Couple of Very expensive records ruined by Back Cueing in the past at venues i'd DJ'd at (Tough Girl & Love Slipped through my fingers) so after that experience i Stoped back cueing all together. Placing the Stylus at the beginning of a record then have a listen to hear how long it is before the sound kicks in and with a bit of practise it becomes a dodle and press the play button couple of seconds before you end your introducing it, works for me. Other Nightmares for me is turning up at a venue to DJ at and finding COINS or other heavy stuff stuck on top of the head shell, when i asked the promoter why that was i was told, Old styluses mate, so it stops the record from Jumping. Record box Box Lid Closed and headed for the exit. I have actually come across a DJ to two who carried a couple of Cartridges & his own Mic & Headphones to Venues. π Commitment or What ?

ANGIE STONE ... R.I.P.
10 Days down the line and still can't get my head round this Sad Loss of Angie Stone (and all of the other loses this year has thrown at us) Such a Talent & A Sweet Sweet Lady. I Was Lucky to be DJ'ing in my Home Town of Scunthorpe Last Nite (Sat 8th) and Opened My set with "I Wish I Didn't Miss You" The Remix, asking the Crowd to join me in Paying Our very own Respect to the Lady in the only Way That As Soul Fans we could, With their Feet On The Dance Floor, they did not disappoint, followed by a round of applause (not for me) but for Angie π₯°

Arthur Prysock recent If i was a boy release
Just for the Record (yes i will take that as a pun Ha Ha) π It was far better than lot of Pop Drivel that was played on the Scene over the years and judging by that from comments on the thread so far, Dave Thorley Played it on the Dodgy Acetate,Chalky and myself were playing it off the LP and like me must have had many people up to the Turntables to see what was being played, Rob5airborne was Chasing it to find out it's identity and been Bugging him for over 30 years Rated it as a 'Absolutely Blinding Track' Blackpoolsoul has been trying to gleam some information on Allan Scott and seems there is just nothing out there about him, but thanks for all your efforts π **So yes, for a 'Quality Pop Record' it certainly got the Juices Flowing Back Then & Now It Would Seem**

Arthur Prysock recent If i was a boy release
Too True, great shame as it would have made a welcome official 7" release but hey! was not to be, but loads of other singers felt differently and did their version/take on it. But for me Allans is the best version for me.
