  7. Yes you're right. I wish I'd taken a very nice offer for my copy a few years ago.
  8. Yes, that was really cheap and someone got a right bargain I reckon. The last one he sold a few years ago i think, was £500+ and I thought that was cheap then!
  9. Not sure what you mean moog? I don't need the boot of rising sun as I've got an orig.
  10. I didn't know the Rising Sun had been booted...er... re-issued.
  11. That second link posted above isn't too bad, that would be about £200, a fair price I reckon when you consider this was well over £1000 when first discovered.

So what is the stuff that's a bit clip clop Doris Day ish? I once went to a night where one of the DJ's Murv Parnell or something played an hour of the most soulless music I have ever heard at a soul night. I really thought I was at the wrong venue, yet the floor was busy.
  13. You missed it as well bro.
  14. That was very cheap.
  15. It's a strange one isn't it Ivor? It was up for big money at one time, I'm sure I saw it for £200, yet it's a modern press with a dreadful sound quality which ruins a really good record.
  16. Never heard the David Oliver version, it's a belter!. It's strange that the Mahdi and Tracy Kerr sounds older even though it's 2 years later.
  17. No. 10 is a version of Mahdi and Tracy Kerr - 'Who are you'. Don't know whe version though. No.20 is the Down Five - 'I Do Love You cause your my lady'. No.39 is by Bill. it's the flip to 'Space Lady'
  18. Really? Who's put this out? Good release!

Yes, you're right, I think it was on topic but I know what you mean.

….Pherrell is a good fun pop record, nothing more. Its never going to be "northern soul"…. But Steve, when the unimaginative soul night DJ's play it every night next to Tribute to Betty, Drizzzzzzzzzzzabone and whatever that last one was that everyone was on about, and the punters fill the floor hoofing to it, then it will have become 'Northern soul'. Aren't those the rules when trying to explain why Paul Anka when we get there(pop), James Fountain (funk), Crow (psych rock) etc, etc are all classed as northern ....."if it gets plays on the Northern scene, then it's Northern."
  21. It might help if you stated which ones contain soul or funk tracks worthy of consideration.

Was there a vinyl original of this Steve? I still play my old maroon boot at home, such an uplifting record.
