  1. Bob, I was going to say the same, I don't know how many of the comments are from Americans. i think most are Scottish and English student types who are into obscure psych, Jazz and garage, There are some good comments on the thread though.
  2. Or just use a snipe site. You can adjust your bid up or down till the dying minutes, or take it off completely, it's such a better way of bidding.
  3. Maximum respect must go to the Daptone guys for nurturing and looking after Charles and giving him the confidence and room to do what he can do. It's so nice to hear such an authentic warm sound by the musicians who obviously have such a love for the 60's and 70's era soul and funk, not to mention the attention to detail in the physical vinyl products. Timmion also can hold their heads very high. What could easily just have just been a throwback fad, without much thought other than may be cashing in on some passing trend, is actually a serious antidote to the way music has been produced over the last 20 odd years and the type of artistes we see and hear on the radio. I really hope it becomes recognised as a real alternative to the over produced contemporary sound that seems to be on every piece of music played on TV or radio. Best of luck to everyone involved. Jordi

  7. I love Dazz by Brick, but flip me, he must have had a rush of blood to the head to think that would work at a northern night.
  8. Does anybody actually play jerky JB style funk at northern do's? I've never heard any. It wouldn't blend at all, like dropping some Parliament funk, totally inappropriate music style, sounds like a myth to me.
  9. Absolutely Len. The amount of modern room, crossover and funky plays that end up (usually about 3 - 5 years later) going big on the Northern dancefloors shows how important these genres are to keeping the whole thing going.
  10. The Jude is on nice heavy vinyl though whereas I think the Mainstream are on styrene.
  11. Fair enough, but at best it was still misleading by not actually stating the obvious, that it was a BOOT!!!

It used to get plays in the crossover rooms from late 90's onwards Billy.
  13. What never fails to amaze? That people would knowingly spend that money on a boot? or how easy it is to con people by not telling them it's a boot? Mmmm...
  14. Nice production on this Carl, very authentic sounding Vince Montana Philly, also similar vibe to the Missin' Linc Ltd 45. Not northern though, but then you never said it was.
  15.
  16. Very cheap price!!

I love the record, always have, but I never understood why it was classed as a northern soul record.
  18. If you've got a rare tune that very few people know, and you know it's a killer, then you will value it based on it's potential when it gets into the right DJ's hands. I think that was exactly what Seb said but different words.
  19. Sounds like it should be tasty.
  20. WOW!! I've heard about this track but I've only just listened to it for the first time. Flip me, that is an absolutely wonderful piece of music.

Mine's a really nice loud proper heavy vinyl press, and it sounds great. Love the Latin instrumental dancer Gua jazz on the flip too.
  22. Flip it over Dale, it's cracking sweet b side.
  23. I don't think this has been booted. Mine is the darker variation of the two scans but I've seen other releases by the Caprells on the lighter label and they are originals. i absolutely love this record.
  24. I read somewhere that that isn't true. Different fellas.
