  1. It was quite good actually. Not the cringe fest I was dreading.
  2. Absolutely! An incredible piece of soul music if ever I have heard one!
  3. I think it would be great. Like you , I have read books about Wigan etc but it would be great to read about a time that you were actually a part of. Plus there are enough people on here that were around at that time who could contribute. Go for it

It is that long since I have bought anything I had to think long and hard to remember See you tomorrow. Can't wait

Sorry Tabs but they can and do block snipes. Thinking about it it does tell you when you go to place the snipe that the seller does not accept snipe bids.

It has been a while but I think they have to know your password in order to place a bid on your behalf. I used to use a sniper but some sellers put a block on them and if you are bidding in the final seconds you don't know until the auction is over and you find out your bid has been blocked.
  7. Little Curtis & the Blues - 'Please Keep Me' it sounds like he is singing Pigs Kidneys Does anybody know the words to Marjorie Black - One More Hurt?
  8. I totally agree. There are loads of known £10 records a million times better than this, which is exactly what you said in your post. If it really is one of the hardest to find modern tunes of all time as hinted in the first post why on earth cover it up? Surely the mark of a truly rare record is when it is known but still hard to find.
  9. If it is covered up how do you know it is rare? Unless you know who it is of course. But then what is the point of covering it up. That said, I think it is not even average at best - rare or not. Sorry Liam.
  10. Were they twins? It is a bit like the Stunners on Renfro. Were they Stunners?
  11. Not true because Stoke now has a rare room and has at least two of the Lifeline DJs on. Although I know you were speaking hypothetically Len. Anyway, surely promoters promote knowing that they could very well make a loss? And the promoters that have a different nighter on every weekend are not helping things.
  12. You are quite talented yourself Paul

Sold mine to Mick Howard who it would appear has sold it to Mark W
  14. Karl has told me about his guitar playing days but this is the first time I have seen him. Fantastic!
  15. It was a fantastic night Alan
  16. Really? This record has been played as long as I have been going to nighters and you can bet it was around long before that. Great tune!
  17. The Wigan area will have even less venues soon as they are closing at least five in the Borough by early next year. Monaco Ballroom and Lowton to name just two.
  18. How did you not know it was Shotts then?
  19. I think you will find they are one in the same Webby. I take it you never went?
  20. The Fabulous Peps being one of them I love live acts! I must to admit to having butterflies and feeling a little sick before they come on just in case they aren't up to the job any more. I don't understand why people begrudge one hour out of a night to watch an act. It means the world to these artists to perform in front a crowd that truly 'gets' and appreciates what they were trying to achieve back then. Without them we would not have this wonderful music or scene. I think they deserve some respect and recognition. But that's just me.
  21. It is Reggie Saddler Combo - Hear My Song. Absolutely fantastic tune. Just a little too fast for these legs. Ok - a lot too fast
  22. What a shame. We only discovered this little gem of an allnighter recently but it was a cracker. Pity there isn't one more. It would have been good for it to go out on a real high.

I was just thinking this morning about the first time I heard Butch DJ. I was still living at home so I would have been about 20 or so. I wrote down in my little notebook the Del Larks, G. Davis/R. Tyler and the Just Brothers. Happy days.
