Poll: Russ V Richard - Wigan 1973-81
Russ was the first to play Dean Parrish Im On My Way, how do I know this ?, because I lent him it to play, I have to admit though, that it was Swish who brought the record to my attention.

Interesting Writing On Label
I used to have a UK demo of Alex. Patton with Steve Marriot written on the label, I often wondered if it was the Small Faces one.

How far would you travel..
In my experience traveling to nighters is a bit like how long is a piece of string. It always takes longer and is more miles than first thought. I've been on roundabouts that have added 5 miles to the journey after being distracted by people talking utter bollocks. Then there's the complete inability to see road signs, mostly because nobody is taking a bit of notice as they arguing about which cassette to play. My overiding opinion, on the subject of driving to all nighters is its a good job they are on all night.

Linda Perry demo in sales
In sales there's a white demo of Linda Perry It's all in the back of me now on Mainstream. It's the first one I've ever seen and I've had dozens of issue copies over the years. I've had/seen double sided demos of Everybody Has Someone, the other side, but these have always had standard red black and white labels. Comments ?

Looking to interview women from soul scene of the 1970s
There are loads of dating sites that cater for, shall we say, the more mature woman, perhaps you should try them. Sorry mate just couldn't resist .

Gerry & Paul and the Soul Emissaries. Cat walk.
The tune with the prominent Bobby Wells style vibes/tubular bells on the intro is the tune everybody, who was there at the time, knows as The Cat Walk. When the horns kick in you can virtually hear the words "lets do the cat walk, come on and do the cat walk".
-
Gerry & Paul and the Soul Emissaries. Cat walk.
I suppose you had to be there at the time.
-
Gerry & Paul and the Soul Emissaries. Cat walk.
Exactly, as my Grandma used to say "If things don't change they won't alter".
-
Gerry & Paul and the Soul Emissaries. Cat walk.
Interesting point. So what you are saying is that the reverse label copies are the right way round and that the ones with the labels the right way round are in fact the reverse of what was previously thought, mi lud. Any clues in the matrix ?, I sold my copy a few weeks ago so I can't look.
-
Gerry & Paul and the Soul Emissaries. Cat walk.
No mate, only the copies with reversed labels have reversed labels, the copies that don't, haven't.

Gerry & Paul and the Soul Emissaries. Cat walk.
Yes guys you are all quite correct, I have amended my earlier post, looks like I listened to the right tune on youtube and then copied the wrong link somehow. Apologies for any confusion caused.

Gerry & Paul and the Soul Emissaries. Cat walk.
This is not the Cat Walk played at the Torch, next time I will actually listen to something before assuming its the tune I was looking for. This is of course the flip side "A Little Bit Of Soul".
