Last copy on here was £200.00 last month, don't know if it sold or not, a great oldie and likewise don't get stung on the boot !

Thanks for the replies so far, it amazes me the amount of people I have met over the years who bought this as a new release at the time in 74' and sold it for peanuts later on ! My copy came from a Mecca regular, 71' - 79 ' who remembers them touring at various venues in the North West at the time to promote the album release, she bought it the next day, so that would tie in with the previous comments ;-)

Always loved the album and lucky enough to own one , but just watched one finish on Ebay for £370.00 !!!!! No way did I think it was worth that much , is it undergoing a revival or just in-demand ?

I got mine from a car boot in Preston about 87 along with the badge for 50p Stand out track for me was The Miracles - Gotta Dance To Keep From Crying, quite quirky with tracks and the artists introducing themselves in between Both now long gone, however I would probably of got a lot of funny looks nowadays wearing the badge as it clearly states at the top " Swinger and Friend " !!!!!! Last one I saw in a sales box was about £40.00

My experience would be purchasing Tommy Turner - Lady , thinking I had just purchased Lazy !!! That last year of Stafford was rather hazy to say the least !!!!!

If anybody wants a copy of that mag, there's one on eBay now , the Bowie edition, and no I'm not the seller !! ;-)

I was at a 50th birthday a few weeks ago, my mate got one of the other lads to dj, marquee job and bar in garden, about 100 people, blah blah.... Anyway the guy did a three hour set throughout the night and had everybody up dancing and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, the birthday boy congratulated him at the end of the night for a top set of tunes during the evening and asked him to make a playlist as he really liked some of the more underplayed stuff played.... His face was a picture when the lad confessed he had used the guy's own record collection throughout the entire evening, with the guys wife's permission, playing album tracks, b sides and those forgotten sounds that you really don't hear anymore.... Priceless....

Anybody got one for Sale in tip top condition ?

One of the main issues is lack of knowledge regarding what is an original / bootleg / reissue, etc... There were a lot of very good quality pressings made in the 70's which flooded the market as we are all aware, but to get a working knowledge of what's real or not takes years to build up or you could just carry a copy of Manship's guide around all the time ! Even some of the experts have been caught out in their day ! You just have to look at evil bay to see the vast amount of dross being sold out there.. ..

I was given that Rain promo by my mate's big brother along with loads of other stuff when I started late Stafford days and he quit post Casino , bona fide original and due to my naivety of the record always thought that was it and everbody had it. Always liked it in my teens as one of those " guilty pleasures" . Sold along with my sevens collection a few years ago and now know why the dealer at the time was smiling and being very interested in it at the time , asked how much I said I wanted a tenner as never seen another. !! Knowledge. is power guys!!!!!!

I live in a little market town called Pocklington, between York and Hull, in a nutshell , affluent area, elderley population, blah blah!! Six charity shops, and believe you me, been through them all, fantastic for designer clothing and cheap as chips, my mum in Scotland loves visiting, ( original mod in the sixties ) and now 67 ! Found the mint Frank Dell lp on Guinness and bits and bops over the years but how the hell they got here I do not know! Ian Clark told me years ago he use to sell to a major collector in town who ran one of the pubs but since moved on I proudly call myself the " only soulie in tne village " !!!!

It must be a Scottish thing ! Having grown up listening and travelling to see Keb Darge , Colin Law and the Walls Brothers I fully expected as a paying punter to be heckled, bullied and blatantly told to " Get on the f******g dancefloor " to which I duly did. , no questions asked !!!! Can you imagine that nowadays !!!
