Cue hearing Otis's version at 10 yrs and my destiny of life was doomed from then on !!!!!!!!
  3. Yes but beware of Sadie , the diva of drag !!!!!!

  11. Ladies / Gents, In the credit crunch times when we're losing jobs , paying off staff , and bosses are generally scaling down and being tw++ ts !!!!! Does anybody have a good story to tell regarding bosses who have " sympathised " with you being involved in the scene or better still, have THEY have been involved and you did'nt know ? Was working for a major retail company in Edinburgh in the early 80's , the main honcho covering the north east including scotland appears for a months staff " clearout " and gets the three departmental managers together stating one job and 4 weeks to prove ourselves , I stand no chance as am only guy and two girls "involved " with line management . Head honcho staying in hotel near me and gives me a lift home , As we get into car he puts on cassette and apologises for the next 30 mins of music , Out blasts The Dynamics - Yes I Love You Baby !!!!!!!!!!, We talked everyday for a monthy about the journey home ,about records , swapped cassettes , people still on scene , Turns out he was a regular at Torch , Wigan and Leeds Central Soul , and turned a blind eye to my poor attendance record on mon morn due to nighters , etc ... Yes , I know what you're all thinking , did I get the job ? No !!!!!!!!!!!! , the git had an affair and went off with one of the girls !!!!!!
  12. Being a collector of albums , when Ruby Andrews went massive I swapped the 45 , ( which I paid a fiver for ! ) for a mint sealed copy of the album Black Ruby with the track on it , PLUS £250 cash , Bargain
  13. Ladies / Gents , Was involved in conversation , with a bunch of scooterists ,last night in the Las Vegas of the north , commonly known as Bridlington !!! , apart from the weekender and the annual scooter run was wondering why there is'nt a monthly event in town , there certainly seems demand , Healthy scene in Scarborough and Hull , but why not Brid ? Opinions wanted re people who've been there , done it ,venue , sounds , but more importantly would it be sustainable in these credit crunch times AND would people come Fire Away
