  1. Agreed. I wonder if we'll ever see a 'northern soul records' equivalent of this post on Wikipedia? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stolen_paintings

You've got more chance of getting a 100 copies of MDB than an original of this, thankfully legally reissued. Not bad for a bunch of G.I.s gigging in their spare time on a German airebase!

i get bored very easily so most tunes are flavour of the minute rather the month, but never get tired of this one being on replay. it's got everything and more besides, best thing I've heard in decades
  4. There could be thousands of collectors who only have one very expensive Holly Grail as their 'collection', i don't think the expression "fur coat, no knickers" came about by accident!

The Don Gardner went to Australia via the short-lived company 'Lee Rogers Couriers Ltd' following a recommendation from another satisfied customer

The demos don't skip, except this one. The 'reissues' are styrene, I seem to remember
  8. Can anyone tell what compilation these are on? Particularly F TIA
  9. You've just had egg and chips and you dutifully hand washing your solitary plate: The detergent molecules look like a lollipop ---------O . The stick ------- is water hating (hydrophobic) and goes into the grease droplets. The lollipop end O is water loving (hydrophilic) and 'disperses' into the dish water, hence the water goes down the plug hole, taking the grease with it. Your plate is lovely and clean until you have beans on toast the next day If you want to give the acetate a gentle 'scrub', buy a child's toothbrush, bristles as soft as possible.
  10. Mild detergent, luke warm water for the white oxidation NOTHING ALCOHOL BASED, LIGHTER FUEL, ACETONE ON ACETATES!!!!!!!
  11. I thought it must have been around then. Gary Spencer did me a tape as Rubin Parker, plus Vondells (Athens Rouge) and a track which was a unrelesed Phil-LA test press - can't remember title, but it was on the bit of the taped that severely mangled and snapped.
  12. My thoughts: Probably one for the cinema as cinematography is great. Young Aretha is a fantastic actress. Forest is his usual brilliant self. Jennifer is OK, much better singer than actor but was Aretha 'chosen one' for the part. You won't learn anything much new about AF, needs a 'part two'
  13. Radio 5 live mayo & kermode film review now on 15:00-17:00 featuring Jennifer Hudson re 'Respect' (usually after 15:30 news) it'll be on BBC Sounds if you want to catch up later
  14. one Thursday morning in West Winch: "I'm the attorney for Robert Irvin, James Wagstaff, & Tony Sharp calling with regards to the Barons of Soul record you are selling." "Sorry that's already gone to Japan"

Can anyone remind me what the I.D. of a track is please Studio acetate with 'Blue' written on it it, played out as Jerry Cook - Since I lost My Baby TIA BLUE ss.mp3
  17. I've not seen 'Respect' (2021) yet, but will as it has Forest Whitaker in it, so can't be bad. Reviews suggest it is a showcase for Jennifer Hudson vocals inter-dispersed with some stuff about Aretha's life. There's also 'Genius' series 3 about AF, nowt special IMO and far too long at 8 times 1hr episodes (made in 2017, released this year?) Now the film documentary 'Amazing Grace' (2018) is a great watch.
  18. I meant, I'd rather sell on here to get the £100 or less, than stoke discogs coffers especially since they introduced their ridiculous shipping debacle, i still don't understand it. as for the F&F, has anyone been warned or sanctioned for it?
  19. Thanks. i thought it might be something along those line, so it would be £117 on Discogs, £100 F&F on here!
  20. Maybe a daft question, but if i was the sell a record on Discogs that i wanted to get a £100 in my pocket for (Paypal, but not F&F) how much would i need to charge / get paid to cover fees, paypal fees, VAT etc? 1 to UK buyer 2 to EU buyer 3 rest of the world thanks
