  1. Get some of them "one timers" who turned up @ wigan for the filming if this England or are the all now ex punks new romantics or teddy boys depending on what the currant trend is??? Sorry I can't make it only went 76-80 and I can't fit into my baggies anymore

  5. Bit off thread here but what was the purpose of the small 3mm 1/8in hole found in some imports!!????? Seem to remember them in the ones from soul packs ?? (or is my memory playing tricks??)

My mates girlfriend was going to do a documentry about the soul scene and she was supposed to film at the twisted wheel on a Sunday session two years ago but it fell through I would love to see someone filming St the wheel and interviewing some if the original soulies from the sixties some from the seventies ( like me!) And some of the younger crowd the 18-20 somethings who come and enjoy the unique atmostphere at the wheel Manchester Would be very interesting to hear what the youngsters think about the soulscene Wish him every success in his film making wouldnlove to see the results Ktf "spike"

  12. About 1974/5 I aquired many's a slip (b'twix the cup and the lip) think that's the title!? On an EMI disc why or how did EMI disc's get into the public domain? What was the purpose of such disc's ?? It was a vinyl covered steel pressing can't remember if it had a b side love to know more about emi's ????

Sounds like they never played "soul" at the wheel or the flamingo club orvthe king mojo in the sixties (cos they were mod clubs) I'm so sure that your right that soul music could only have been played at Wigan When you scoff at artists such as georgie fame stevie winwood ect pop artists they may have become but there early stuff was like say the kinks and the faces stones and even the beatles was mainly rhythm and blues basic raw soul music Yawn I'm off to listen to some real soul music perhaps what judy street or the flasher or some other manufactured Wigan crap"spike" Oops forgot to write innbd type to really make my point
