These tracks are brand new versions by the original well respected artist, with plenty more to come. They are for the enjoyment and appreciation of the whole worldwide soul market which is far larger than both the Northern and Scooterist scenes and does not live 29 years in the past. Most definitley not taylor made. Dave P.S and before you start my record collection is from the 1960's right throught to the present (no date restrictions)and I don't wear the same clothes as I did 30 years ago (or perceived uniform required to belong to a scene) either.

Oh! now I know why I had a queue of people outside my front door yesterday morning Andy ! Thanks to all of you guys for your positive comments regarding the David Washington release it's gonna be big ! You can still hear the Chapter 8 pedigree in David's voice, as with the previous Sounds Of Imani (SJ519) release which also featured Chapter 8's Gerry Ervin. Regards Dave

Yeah Chalky Keith was a nice bloke it's really sad when a well established business/local institution like Hudson's goes to the wall. Not only did he sell records but instruments and sheet music as well, where's any young kids who want to learn to play a instrument gonna go now. The damage the download is doing extends farther than just physical vinyl record sales. It's actually killing the music industry as a whole stone dead. Did you see Byonce on the TV the other night lamenting the demise of the album market. If she's finding it tough what chance has a up and coming independent artist ? Dave

One of many possible reasons for Billy Woods poor promotion or lack of release may be down to the fact that Buddah (Sussex distributor) was being taken or about to be over by 20th Century about that time and the release just got lost. This was the reason for the non release of the recent Oliver Cheatham track "Don't Pop The Question etc" When Bill Miller (song's producer) checked his records he remembered that he was messed about by Buddah for nearly 12 months after they expressed an interest in licencing it, with the deal just fizzling out. Maybe one of many possible answers ? Dave

I have a white label test press of John Wesley's "Don't Give It Away/Just Believe" Renfro 114 all the mattrix numbers in the run out groove are the same as the issued release. The only difference being the label credits are hand written but credit "Don't Give It Away" to a one Paul Henry? Dave

Do You Really Want Me went on to become a popular anthem with modern soul and rare groove aficionados alike. On the strength of the Mote 45 the acclaimed “Romantic” album was released in 1991 on John Anderson’s UK based Rare Groove Label. The album contained an extended version of “Do You Really Want Me” plus several other tracks that gained extensive club and radio play at the time. A further limited edition 45 “Berries On The Vine” was released in 1994. Vince is a multi-talented musician who also lists keyboards, piano and Saxophone amongst his performing repertoire. He continues to perform to this day as part of his sisters Dee Dee Wilde Band, alongside brothers Al, Benn and Eugene Broomfield. The entire Broomfield family have also been heavily involved with the recent Cool Millions project “Back For More” which features as a solo outing by Vince entitled “Sprinkle” a song he also co-wrote. In 2009, Soul Junction records released a 45 single on Audio featuring two previously unissued tracks “Kisses Don’t Lie/I Can’t Take It” (SJ503). A follow up album to the 45 release was always in the offing so finally in June 2011 the much anticipated “New Beginnings”album finally hit the streets. The album contains eight previously unissued tracks, which Vince cut during the period of 1989 to 1995. All the tracks were written and performed by Vince with the exception of “All My Love” which features additional vocals by Rick Washington. Vince was also joined on “She’s Gone” by his brother Ben who provided additional guitar work. Tracks such as “Rain, Rain Go Away”, “Just What The Doctor Ordered” and “I Need Your Kisses” received extensive radio airplay in the months that followed the albums release. In April 2012 Vince returned with the sublime “Won’t Somebody/The Answers No” (SJ515) a totally brand new song that Vince wrote and produced only a couple of months before it’s initial release. “Wont Somebody” went on to become a very firm favourite during the summer of that year, thus inspiring Vince to return to the studio to record his current new release, “Don’t Move A Muscle/Donna Lee” (SJ521). “Don’t Move A Muscle” will be released on Monday March 11th 2013 but you will be able to witness Vince perform the song live two days before when he makes his long overdue UK debut at the Prestatyn Soul Weekender at 4pm during the Saturday afternoon session in the Modern Room. The tax ruling used to be that you could sell items from a personel collection up to the value of £8,000 per annun before being liable for Capitol Gains Tax. This may or may not have changed ?
