Bbc Documentary - The Joy Of Disco Bbc4 Friday 02/03/12 21.00
Why did that programme inspire you to listen an old By All Means LP? Great band but nothing to do with disco.

The Colin Curtis Thread
What a criminal! Don't worry about starting the thread Pete. It was a good crack, but some people really did nake themselves look daft

Has Colin Curtis Sold His Collection?
Aside from the thread starter, did anyone else give the slightest shit at this event? I bet he had the floor rammed to a really good set.

Has Colin Curtis Sold His Collection?
The scene takes the p*ss out of itself with ridiculous threads like this

Has Colin Curtis Sold His Collection?
What a load of rubbish. There's much more to being a good DJ than cueing up records proficiently. And some of them can't even manage that

Handbaggers (P**s Heads)
Nice idea Win but totally unenforecable imo in view of the huge number and wide ranging events on here. Would you put pictures up of badly behaving drunks up in a rogues gallery on the site? Perhaps we should add other sections for rogues who don't play ovo, like oldies only, wear baggies and other groups that the mob like to lynch

Just Heard Whitney Houston Died Tonight
RIP Whitney. I saw her live in 1988 - fantastic vocals. She really recorded some gems amongst the pop MOR stuff.

Todays 'sound Of The Sixties' Bbc Radio 2
He also played The Gospel Classics, didn't he?

'the Sound Of.......x'
Don't most venues that run for a reasonable amount of time with a steady resident DJ line up build their own sound? I remember the London venues I used to go to 10-14 years ago like Capitol Soul Club, These Old Shoes and Scenesville all having their own sound (all be it quite similar to each other but each had their own big tunes too). It's just a reflection of the resident's styles.

Milton Wright On Alston
I had a listen again last night. You're tight Bob, it's ok but not great. I'm not surprised Benji has defended it. He put it on a CD for me once.

Milton Wright On Alston
I don't really like the Milton Wright record either, although you'd think it would be my kinda thing. I love all the other tunes mentioned on this thread though.

Ian Levine 3 Hour Podcast Solid Soul Sensations
Did he not say David & Goliath for this one?

Ian Levine 3 Hour Podcast Solid Soul Sensations
I enjoyed it. Lots of good music and very well presented. Not all of it hit the spot and I was surprised how many even I knew (which wasn't that many really). Tic Toc by Connie Stevens was excellent. I guess she's white but it's still a great northern soul record. I don't think he intended the entire podcast to consist of northern soul. Some of the 70s stuff wasn't but they were still pretty good.

Betty Wright - (Artist Of The Week)
I love this song and loved this period of her career where she churned out 4 great LPs in consecutive years in the late 80s
