  1. What about "Solid Bond In Your Heart" and the video that goes with it?
  2. No it isn't. I've never been a mod, I was more of a skinhead listening to Two-Tone & Trojan stuff. Although I did get into The Jam through school mates. >>Anyway here's what I wrote about my Jam stuff about 4 years ago!<<
  3. Utter Crap! Sounds like something from a Disney film like Pete's Dragon or something.
  4. Mutton, Lamb?
  5. Just listening to The Voice Masters - If A Woman Catches A Fool, can anyone shed any light onto why this was released on 3 different occasions on Bamboo? Flip over the one that has "You've Hurt Me Baby"
  6. I haven't got them either.

Was this ever released originally back when it was first recorded? I've copied the following from Dave Rimmers Soulful Kinda Music website (www.soulfulkindamusic.net) , saying that it was withdrawn. Does that mean it was withdrawn before any were pressed up or did any copies get out? Or does it mean that this is the first official release? I'm only asking for my own personal interest, thanks. 6T16 A - Junior McCants - Try Me For Your New Love 6T16 B - Garland Green - Come Through Me The Junior McCants track has been one of the mega rarities from the Stafford days, since Pat Brady originally played it from an acetate. It turned out that the track is horrendously rare simply because Junior McCants died before the single could be released, so it was withdrawn as a mark of respect. the Garland Green is a nice previously unreleased midtempo track.
  8. Worst request, last month "Any more cheese?"

  10. Any chance of having them as a birthday present?
  11. How about Bobby Reed - Time is Right or Soul Bros Inc - Pyramid?
  12. The Contours - Just A Little Misunderstanding or Walter Jacksons - It's An Uphill Climb To The Bottom.

This is copied from the BBC website: Be My Baby: The Girl Group Story Thu 31 Aug, 10:35 pm - 11:35 pm 60mins From the Supremes to Destiny's Child, the Girl Group formula is one that's brought hit after hit. Moulded, choreographed and polished, is a classic pop template - but it's also one which has delivered high drama, backstage rows and, for some singers, has been the launchpad for solo stardom. This BBC ONE special tells the dramatic stories of six celebrated Girl Groups - the Supremes, the Three Degrees, Sister Sledge, Bananarama, The Bangles and The Spice Girls. "All our six acts starts out as a group of friends struggling for a break, " says producer Jeff Simpson. "Then, when fame hits, the backstage rows start, and one of the members leaves to go solo. It's a pattern which keeps repeating itself. Added to that, there's also constant pressure on these women to fit some kind of mould, usually from controlling managers or producers, which makes them all remarkable stories." Members of all these bands are present to tell their own stories, including Mary Wilson of the Supremes; Sheila Ferguson and Valerie Holiday of the Three Degrees; Kim and Joni Sledge; Keren and Sara from Bananarama; Susanna Hoffs and Vicki and Debbie Peterson from The Bangles; and Sporty and Scary Spices, Mel C and Mel B. Plus there's comment from managers, producers and singers like Martha Reeves, Kim Wilde, Katrina from Katrina and the Waves, Jenny Frost from Atomic Kitten and Kimberley and Nichola from British pop's current favourite Girl Band, Girl's Aloud. Spice Girls? AAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Can you use talc on the dancefloor in this shed?
  15. These discussions make me laugh. The oldies brigade is holding the scene back, let's be more progressive listen to my latest discovery it's only 40 years old! The majority of records (if not all) played on the scene are oldies (30-40+years old), it's just that some are played more often than others. Everybody has different tastes, it's as simple as that. Lifes too short to be worrying about stuff like this.
  16. No, because as soon as I do someone will say " I've got a copy you could have had for £40". On second thoughts not wanting to be rude, it was Kim Weston's - I'm Still Loving You - Tamla. First heard it ages ago on CD, then when I first joined on here asked about how much for a copy. Just thought " Sod it! it's now or never!"
  17. Yes, now all I've got to do is pay for it. My god that's going to hurt!
  18. I had a rush of blood the other evening and bid on a record in the region of £60! As anyone who knows how tight I am, will vouch that is an extremely large amount of money for me to part with. I've wanted this record for ages, it's not uncommon, just that I've never considered spending that sort of money before, more important things for me money to go on. I just thought I'd treat myself as it's my birthday Saturday. Whilst watching the last few minutes of the auction half of me was hoping to be outbid and the other half hoping that I'd finally get one of my wants. The old adrenaline was pumping through the veins. Anyway in the future when I see a record at £50+ that I want, I must remember to go into a darkened room and lie down until the feeling passes.
  19. I first saw him at Tiffanys, Great Yarmouth (scooter run 1985) and was totally in enthralled by his performance. Funny how because he was always performing, and let's be honest, living in England, don't you sometimes think his performances were taken for granted. I mean look at the comments about acts when they come to perform (one off gigs) at weekenders, just get the feeling that he wasn't really appreciated as much as he should have been. Sad how you never realise how much you have until it's gone.
  20. Still got a 12" copy of it.
  21. He's sorely missed. Still better than Doni's version, Pete.
  22. I've finally managed to subscribe. Look forward to receiving my copies throught the post in the future. I just hope that I can get to them before our dog does!
  23. Is it the sites owner or the server providers responsibility?
  24. By looking at the PPL site, it seems that there are so many different types of licence. Public premises need them just for having a jukebox, people need them for storing mp3's on their computers. How many people on here who have moaned about artists being ripped off, have mp3's on their PC's but don't have a PPL? I'll admit I haven't got a PPL, but have music stored on my PC. Does Mike need one for this site (soundfiles) as it's in the public domain? As for promoters, it seems they can have one (doesn't necessarily need to be the venue), but the cost depends on the amount of people attending and how many events per year they hold. So it seems the whole PPL issue is as clear as mud!
  25. Pretty sure the venue needs this licence not the promoter. Well my club has it, because I stuck up the nice sticker they send out to show we've got it (the PPL that is).
